LA-class Frigate "Athene" v.1.04

Description
Light Attack class Frigate - "Athene"
by Demigod Industries

Designed as a Light Attack frigate for Deep Space Operations. The compromise between fire power, mobility and durability makes Athene the best choice for Black Operations. Reinforced heavy armor in key locations, extends her survivalability under combat conditions. Her light weight of 5.200 tons, allows Athene to outmanoeuvre other heavy ships her class. As a fast response unit, Athene is equiped with a Micro FTL Drive.

The Dual Wing design, makes Athene unique among other frigates. Although the wings look the same, their purpose is not. The Starboard wing is serves a more industrial purpouse with Storage, Fuel Control and other non-crew related facilities. On the other hand the Port side holds Medical bay, Crew quarters and VR Simulator. Athene "Wings" are connected with a Sky Bridge allowing faster crew movement between essencial ship stations.
Beyond an unique look, the Dual Wing design serves as Damage Control. Separate Core location, ensures continuous functioning, after one of the Wings gets destroyed.
Additionally the ship is equiped with an emergency catwalks in case of core breach.

Flight Tips.
To mantain low angle of attack in a turn it is suggested to pilot Athene like a fighter jet. Meaning, if you want to turn Right, start to Roll clockwise and Pitch UP. This way the Bottom thrusters will smoothly correct her fly path with minimum velocity loss.
Only 2 Large Thrusters on the sides make the frigate less mobile in Strafe directions.

FTL Manual:
The use of FTL drive is very easy. All you need to do is to activate it and turn off Dampeners. I have added a FTL Core panel, where by reversing the Gravity field you can apply the FTL for moving backwards.

Weight around: 5.200 tons
Large thrusters: 28
Small thrusters: 62
Power output: 20 500 MW
Gyroscopes: 32

Door color code:
Bridge - Red
Crew quarters - Blue
Engineering - Yellow
Medical bay - White
Officer quarters - Green
VR deck - Violet
Airlocks - Orange
Sky bridge - Light green
Other - Black

Hope you enjoy it!

Known Issues: At top speeds the Hangar Gate rotor tends to break down due to game mechanics. I tried to counter it with Hangar Gate Lock, which helped but didn't fix the issue entirely. The only known way to fix it, after it breaks down is to replace it.

Fix v1.02: One of the Office Rooms was damaged due to loose Control Station while travelin max velocity. Had to renovate it. Small Bridge reconfiguration and small 2nd Floor redesign.

Update v1.03: Added Heavy Armor blocks in key locations (reactors, refineries, bridge). Added 4 additional Large Thrusters as Main Engines. Remapped whole Interior Lights system. Added a Lock Module to Hangar Doors.

Update v1.04: Added Micro FTL Drive, Alarm Lighting system, Brig room for prisoners. Removed few gyroscopes.

I like the color coding and use of glass over conveyor tubes, but I do have one small complaint: the passages where one would have expected ladders to be (before the ladder removal patch) are likely to cause issues during multiplayer if someone lags. It's fairly easy to rig up a set of gravity generators to make a suitable vertical walkway (which I'll be putting a demo of on the workshop when I get a chance).

Don't get discouraged :) I just got lucky. I'm looking forward to see some of your work!
