Northumbria Rail Livery Chs7

Description
The Skoda Chs7 Electric (Double) locomotive was imported in 1984 as part of the High speed freight scheme for the east coast mainline
in NRFreightGray the Chs7's success on the HSF scheme saw the engine used as a long range engine for NRInterCity NR's Chs7 saw its golden age
in it's Amtrak style NRInterCity livery operating on both the east and west mainlines. In 1995, NR was offered intercity contracts linking
Northumbria's major cities with large English cities (primarly london) The Chs7 handled the international Newcastle to london line. Later in 2005,
the line was extended to Edinbough and NR painted a locomotive in the special 'NRFlyingScotmanGreen' harking back to the pre-independence LNER
service. In 2020, the Northumbrian Government closed the southern boarder due to the explosion of COVID cases in london causing the
Johnson regime to spitefully cancel the NR contract. NR continued to run the route from Sheffield to Edinbough adding Durham to the route.
Currently, the aging Skoda Chs7's future as an InterCity express locomotive is at risk as NR are considering there replacement with high speed
sets should relations with england improve to the point of free internation crossings. however, as an freight engine the electrification of
the North pennine line is set to see diesel locomotives replaced entirely by electric locos, maintaining the Chs7 as a long haul electric engine.
