The Achilles is a mid to lategame CV with a focus on frontal engagements. Target audience beeing mainly legacy decimators and devastators.
(Update 09.2021: Reforged Eden progression is to go for drones before fighting Legacy. I strongly recommend to do those for a while first and get some auxillary cores and gun upgrades)

The ship is agile enough to keep up with Legacy ships and even do some evasive maneuvering while at >800 m distance. Even though there are a ton of light-weight CVs out there that are better suited for that particular tactic.
This ship is the right brick for you if you can't be arsed to do the meta-roll-around-like-a-sausage-on-a-grill and prefer to exchange close blows while screaming at your armor.

Equipment is select to provide most stuff you need in a mid-game CV:

There are prepared hardpoints for 2 additional artillery turrets as well as storage space for quantums.
A position for a repair bay block is also prepared, the repair bay however is not included (that thing costs waaay too much CPU to justify it on a mid-game combat CV)

And fluff. Pointless, but to compensate there is lots of it.

You could have a look at the MK2 Version of this ship. that comes with some locations for shield upgrades.

Thats fine. I did find some dead space to put a couple hidden thrusters. Not preferred with how beautiful the layout is giving access to all the thrusters other then some smalls, but its a armored weapons platform so it still does its job. And you can't beat the look and build of this and your other ships. Started with the janus and then this. Kronos next maybe. Or the Chimera.

Thruster upgrades are kind of hard if the hull isn't built to support it in the first place.
So no, you missed nothing, it is hard to find the necessary additional space on this ship for thruster upgrades. If you want a ship that has more maneuverability you may be better off looking for a new hull.

I wanted to upgrade this, and there is lots of options. I tried thrusters though and that was less lucky from what I could see. Was there any options I was missing?

Yeah there are already a couple in the crew quarters. They have 1250 storage, but I consider them more fluff then practical.

Supposedly you can use wardrobes and they don't show up. 1600 storage each if you find a place for them.
