Northumbria Rail Skoda 163 Liveries

In 1987 NR Began to replace it's electric locomotive rolling stock with the Skoda 163 imported from Czechoslovakia, The first 168's were put into service on the newly electrified North east and Yorkshire line in the Rail Sky blue Livery. The RailFreight Gray Threetone appered in the North east of Northumbria in 1988 on the electrified North east routes linking Port of tyne, Newcastle and Scotland, replacing the class 33 in the region. The Rail InterCity Sky Blue Redyellow Liveries was used on 163s put into the southern routes replacing some old EMUs and, on some routes Diesel HSTs
