BR Class 87

British Rail Engineering Limited Class 87 electric locomotive delivered from 1983 onward. With a top speed of 180 kph (110 mph), they mostly saw use on the West Coast Main Line as well as pulling the Caledonian Sleeper. By 2021, all units have been withdrawn from regular service although 87 002 is mainline certified and available for rail charter. Most of the class has been sold to Bulgaria where 21 are still in service.
