Description

This is the future rolling stock of the Réseau Express Métropolitain (Metropolitan Express Network) for Montreal and its region. The REM replaced the Deux Montagnes commuter train which ran through the century old Mount Royal Tunnel and is planned to open its first section from Central Station to Montreal's South Shore in 2022. Trains are planned to return to the Mount Royal tunnel in 2023 when the northern branches open. These trains first arrived 2020 and have been undergoing testing in preparation for their introduction upon the opening of the network.

In this mod you can find the lime-green REM livery along with a recolourable version.
Both are available in a 1, 2, or 3 unit set. Each unit has 2 cars.
3 unit trains won't be used in the REM but I added them for fun and flexibility.

Capacity: 600
Mass: 172,000 kg
Power: 1,600 kw
Maintenance Cost: $120 per day
Running Cost: $0.05 per km per pax

I could not find data on the power or mass so they are estimated.


Ceci est le materiel roulant future de la Réseau Express Métropolitain dans Montréal et ses banlieue. Le REM a remplacé la ligne de train de banlieue Deux-Montagne qui utilisait le Tunnel du mont Royal, vieux de plus de 100 ans, et est prévue à ouverture son première section de Gare Centrale à la Rive-Sud en 2022. Les trains sont prévue à retourner à le tunnel du mont Royal en 2023 lorsque les branches de nord sont ourvert. Ces trains sont arrivé en 2020 et ont été soumis à des tests en préparation pour leur introduction lorsque le REM s'ouvre.

Dans cette mod, vous pouvez trouver la livrée de citron vert de REM et un version avec couleurs modifiables.
Tous sont disponable en 1, 2, ou 3 unité ensemble. Chaque unité a 2 voitures.
Trains des 3 unité ne sera pas utilisé sur le REM mais je les ai ajouté pour le plaisir et la flexibilité.

Hey I was wondering, if you are still active and willing, if you could ever do the MPM-10 (Azur) and the modified H-Series Hawker Siddeley used in the Expo Express. Thank you, I really appreciate the Montreal rolling stock you have made for the workshop.

Despite being in the same family and having vaguely similar front designs, the trains themselves actually have different dimensions. REM's cars are both shorter and narrower so they're not technically interchangeable, at least no more than any other similar modern metro-like mod on the workshop.

I see that you ended up making it yourself though and it looks really good! It's certainly a lot better than adapting this into a different consists! Welcome to the modding community!

We can reuse this in Sydney metro, but it needs to be more adaptable.
This entire train can be reworked to a single type, with adjustable coupling and intermediary carraiges.
In sydney we have a single consist, but made of 6 carriages. There is no coupling.
You can use the base 2-train with options to add 0-4 intermediary carriages, then couple these together in the current up to three pairs.
This would then be ideal to use for Sydney metro too!
