Description
In the base game, all FOTS ships have the same movement range, which is strange on its own. But what bothered me more, was how short it was. With this mod that would be a thing of the past, now your ship can travel as far as their real-life counterpart in each turn. Just note that each ship has a different campaign movement range base on their real-life records.

But, this mod wasn't just aimed to make your campaign easier. I wanted some more historical accuracy. So, I also adjusted the sailing speed of ships during battle, now most of them are slightly slower than the vanilla game, with only a few got buffed, as things should be.

What's more, The cost of the more advanced ships have been increased to reflect their real-life price as well. I made their price 1/40 of the actual cost so they're still somewhat affordable in campaign. Or else, believe it or not, a lot of them actually worth more than castles, like, for real. By the way, the upkeep cost are untouched, as these are surprisingly close the sailors' wages back in those days.

This is my first mod, in Shogun 2 at least. I made it for my own enjoyment, feel free to incorporate my work into your mod, just give me a shout-out.

thanks man, appreciated your mod (tried it last night)... to bad that the game´s mechanisms are a bit limited !! i think this will be my only mod, the rest are fixed by other mods !!

To be honest, it's been more than a year since I uploaded this mod, and quite some time since I last played the game, I must admit I can't remember what I read or did back then. Good on you for making a better version of it. Have fun with the game~

hey man i made the same mod as you but for use with master of strategy...someday i may upload it...the kanko maru engine was 150 hp , the weight 781 tons. The kaiten was 400 hp with 1920 tons and 11,6 knots. make the calculations and you ll fine the probable speed of kanko...
The real life range of the ships during a 15 day voyage ( 1 turn in fots) however is not practical for this game... imagine that kyushu - hokkaido distance is 1700 kms so a chiyodagata with 5 km per hour need 1 turn to cover the distance!! i also changed the acceleration and the turn rate to reflect the difference bettween paddle steam and screw.The weapons need not be changed the are more or less accurate ( the firing range of the historical guns (variety of calibers on the same ship) is from 2,5 kms to 3,5 kms).... Good luck with modding pal, nice to see that i am not the only one caring for naval accuracy !!!

It's not a bug created by this mod, that happens in the base game as well. It happens when the AI tries to block a port but finds out there's coastal artillery and retreats, and then immediately tires to block said port again, the cycle only ends when the ship no longer can move.
那不是這個模組造成的bug,原版本來就會發生。原因是AI在嘗試封鎖剛口時發現有海防砲所以撤退,但又馬上嘗試再次封鎖港口,這個循環會一直持續到船隻沒辦法動為止。

This mod has a bug. Sometimes when a ship blocks your port, many messages will pop up that the port is blocked

I agree with Ham, vanilla ship gameplay is 1) AI sends one corvette to raid or get a lucky bombard
2) Attack and it retreats farther than you can chase 3) Repeat for 90+ turns.
