Description
What's that? You want a coal powered tug boat? Have you heard of climate change?

CHUG is a highly manoeuvrable coal-steam powered pusher tug capable of 37 knots unladen and 13 knots when pushing a full barge of 22.5k of coal.

CHUG is powered by a 4-turbine coal-steam system, operating at 9.5 bar with full water conservation using a sea-cooled condenser. CHUG has an operating time of 3 hours on the integrated coal hopper (250 coal).

CHUG comes with an integrated barge which can hold 22,500 coal, simply enable the front connectors on CHUG and drive the tug to the TUG marker on the barge. You can detach any time and use the impressive manoeuvrability of CHUG to nudge the barge whichever way you require.

CHUG also has an autopilot, radar, emergency beacon locator and full suite of equipment.

All microcontrollers and features designed and built by myself.

Instructions:
  • Turn the key or press and hold [1].
  • Switch the display to "engines" mode to see the progress of the startup procedure. It takes about 60 seconds.
  • Once the boiler has about 3 bar pressure, drive.
  • [2] on the seat enables the front connectors which you will need to attach to the barge.
  • To ensure accurate engagement, the right connector enables first. The other connectors will engage after positive connection with the right connector.

Where is that coal conveyor?

one of the best and easiest tugs to use, the ONLY issue is sometimes it is a tad bit too fast, could end up damaging stuff it is pushing if you arent careful

Yeah I might add some more barges, like container barges. I don't really have any experience with environment mods to build a unload station but if someone does, maybe I can adapt the barge to use it. It's a bit useless at the moment...

can you make an adapter for the coal output on the barge as it is somewhat impossible to do so without one

This is one of my favourite builds so far. Maybe add more barges in the future.

"global Warming" is just a big sham, used to try to get more money from wind turbines and solar panels.

I left about 250 units of coal free so that you can try loading it from a harbour. It's just slightly under 22.5k when full. Unfortunately there's no good places to unload coal by ship, but I've got some room to modify it if someone builds a good coal unloading environment mod.

Not sure what I'll build next, maybe a train that can haul coal. To be honest I don't like steam-powered stuff very much, it's pretty buggy, low power, clunky aesthetics... I probably won't build another coal-powered vehicle.

@Illy now you need to try to do train and air for coal
btw i dont think its 22.5k units of coal tho and i dont know how to unload this from sea to land but i havnt tryed it yet so

kinda wished it was me the reason you made this :(

Haha, I hadn't forgotten that but I've actually made this for the MrNJ challenge. If you're on his discord channel throw me a vote if you like it ;)
