The Scavenger Alliance is a loose alliance between various factions of scavengers. A relationship of convenience more than trust. The alliance ensures that Scavengers can claim wrecks and salvage without fearing attack from other scavenger factions and are also protected from pirates and outlaws through strength in numbers.

The FL-41 Ground excavation vehicle, or as its know among the Alliance, the Flat Earther, is a large terrain removal machine sporting 20 laser drills.
The machine was designed to help the Alliance place bases easier on difficult terrain. The flat Earther would be deployed to remove natural curvature and rough terrain from an area so a base could be placed without bits falling off of it.

Most Alliance members joke the machine is a product of laziness when the same job could be done with the flattening mode on the hand drill, but then most machines are born of laziness anyway, the irony is clearly lost on these people sat in their comfortable SV cockpits.....
All that goes out of the airlock when they see the Flat Earther in action, carving great swaths of ground in little time.

The Flat Earther is also great at building roads.

The Flat Earther needs an escort while working as it has no defence based in reality.
