This rocky, swampy planet has a thick atmosphere that warms it considerably, though it is far from its sun; a slowly dying red star.

The UV light emitted by this ancient alien sun is so weak that the sky appears black even at midday. Still; there are enough rays to see by and enough for various exoflora to harness it and convert it into fuel through photosynthesis.

Instead of a moon it holds a gargantuan gaseous cloud in near-stasis orbit.

Rhe is also home to massive quantities of gold -- all of which formed just beneath the surface in huge molten pools which are now cooled, pure Au.

This is the only reason we have come to this rugged, brackish world...but we are not the first to arrive. Untold eons ago an unknown civilization erected a mysterious, temple-like structure, apparently hewn from a single, mammoth piece of a dense, dark material we cannot identify.

Whatever or whoever they were (and whatever this strange, dark edifice was meant to inspire) has long since disappeared. Feel free to use the enigmatic building -- and its standing crimson crystal formation -- for whatever you will. Just don't let it distract you from mining the gold.
