Description
Welcome to Attractive Shop Signs.
I hope you enjoy this!
Did you always think something is missing in your beautiful selfcreated city and couldn't figure out what it was?
Or did you buy a building in a town to start some business, but it looks somewhat unattractive? You have a whole wagon full of cats, but you still wonder how for crab's sake to make this look like an actual shop?
Well, then you need these nifty inventions to make up to that.
What this mod adds:
  • 9 signs (no upgrades, more unique)
    (building category: sign > Attractive Shop Sign)
  • 27 upgradeable signs (each upgradeable up to 4 times)
    (building category: sign > Attractive Shop Signs)
  • 3 custom Storage Boxes:
    (building category: STORAGE > Attractive Shop Boxes)
  • Hemp Box Deluxe (stores hemp)
  • Rice Box Deluxe (stores rice bowls)
  • Fish Box Deluxe (can store Dried-/Grand/Thinfish)
and a Pizza Box Deluxe (can store pizza) -> need patchmod
Research:
  • AS- Signs (split into 3 categories, one developed after each other)
  • Attractive Shop Signs: Requirements: Science lvl 2 / Electrical Crafting / Random Furniture // 2x Ancient Science Book + 5x Electrical Components (all basic signs)
Upgrades:
  • Attractive Shop Signs Framed: Science lvl 3 / 3x Ancient Science Book
  • Attractive Shop Signs Plus: lvl 3 // 3x Ancient Science Book
  • AS- Boxes:
    Science lvl 1 / Electrical Crafting // 2x Ancient Science Book / 3x Electrical Components

    How To Click A Sign
    Attention: Everyone told you the only way to dismantle your signs from buildings is by going to the ingame editor and delete them or delete the whole building and then reimport or similar things.
    SO, for all the signs that are attached to lightnodes I have the solution here:
    Move all characters out of the building, besaid sign is attached to; so the building is empty and the outside walls are displayed. Now guess what, between the sign-support-post and the actual building's wall (spot the lightnode sits at (which is not visible ingame)), "the sign" is now clickable and you can upgrade, dismantle or just enjoy the look of that awesome sign description window!

    I added 2 screenshots as reference, showing where approximately, the lightnode sits / where you can click the sign.
    It is very small and it takes some practice&patience.


    I also know that I have not covered everything, for example robotics or clothings and some more. Though, I might add new signs in future, but for now I need a bit of a bigger break for myself sometime soon and hope everyone is fine with the existing content for now! ♥

For adding it to vanilla cities, I for now I can't promise things but I will look into it once I found moddingmotivation again. But when I've found it I will have quite a to-do-list already. :2016whoadude:

@Fei Thats a point. My point is though, if one creates such a sign, he will watch over it and clean it from time to time and maybe also change broken parts.
Though, it is an interesting point and I might think about it, but for now it is not going to happen. Thanks for the feedback :super: I just hope you can still enjoy it without broken leds. :fishee: (maybe try an upgrade version, that will at least change the frame of the sign hopefully more to your likings) :sg_heart:

I like the idea but I think they are way too clean and elaborate... you should make them more 'rubish', with missing light on some letter, tilted hanging sign, wood or rusted metal surface etc.

Really nice, also I'd totally sub to a mod adding these and various neons lights to actual vanilla cities, that would really give a falloutish vibe ^^
