Description
This is a bigger and better version of my Antecedents Mod. Download this one. If you have personal ships you want to rescale, join the reassembly discord and send me a PM and I will do it for you.

special thanks goes to:
-prototype for helping make chadline shapes
-dillpickaxe for building ships and writing code to doublesize everything
-aelois for building like half the palette
-others for helping with faction aesthetic/balance

-Overview-
This is my third actual faction mod, and among those it probably looks the best. Here's hoping I haven't burned out irreversibly.

Check out my other mods in the linked collection and have fun!

-Lore-
-Creation Lore-
In the beginning, there was darkness. An endless yawn of the abyss that wrapped around into itself and infinity. And in the center of infinity was fire. A weak, pathetic force that constantly fought just to survive. Until it died out.

Abyss is the absence of anything familiar. It is the unknowable and terrifying. And it was alone. Without the fire of creation, abyss loses its meaning. For how dark can something truly be if no light exists to showcase its darkness.

And so the fire of creation sprung to life; creating vast galaxies teeming with planets and stars. And just as it was about to overextend and burn out, it created life. Just one microscopic speck in the center of the existence it had created. And then the fire of creation burnt out.

Aeons passed and life grew to be the new light against the dark. As the void beyond strangled back against what fire had created, life employed servants to fight back. These servants spread across the galaxy, populating them with new forms of life. They became known across the galaxy as the Antecedents: those here before us.

As time passed, the effects of life weakened. Even the fire at the beginning of everything was created to give the void strength. And life was but a subsidiary to that fire. The outer reaches of life started to falter. Civilizations began worshipping the void instead of life and the Antecedents in hope they would be spared. But the void is indiscriminate. More and more worlds fell until only the antecedents remained again.

Stripped of their godhood, the antecedents desperately tried to gain any semblance of power. They used what little stars were left to launch an attack on infinity. They created spectacular weapons that were snuffed out in an instant. Once all hope of living in the light was lost, life in its dying breath gave the antecedents the secret to creation. With what power the once great faction had left, they created a rift to a universe within their original one in order to escape the void.

As the last antecedent entered the rift, the void overtook everything and only the rift was left in the infinite sea.

Where the Antecedents appeared, they quickly overwhelmed any resistance and created a new rift to run even farther away from what they came from. Some of the population stayed behind as guards and lookouts. As the faction ran farther and farther, however, they began to spread thin. The only way for them to reproduce was through life itself, and without it they were spread thin through a system of roots. As the roots within reality got deeper, so did the resistance of the factions living there as there were no longer enough Antecedents to delete them with the original ease. Now the Antecedents became dormant gods within the tethers keeping them safe from the void, and hope that it will never look that low.

-Lore if you play as a random faction with an Antecedent region in the galaxy-
In the beginning there was nothing. Existence itself didn’t exist yet as there was no galaxy for it to be in. Not even void inhabited this area. Then, through some long lost memory of a forgotten universe, stars were created. An invisible hand seemed to turn the wheel of time as planets developed and thrived with life. Species took to the stars and found one another. Sometimes there was peace, and other times war. In the grand scheme of the universe, however, there was balance. Factions rose and fell, and creatures led lives of various walks of life.

The universe was thriving when suddenly it split open. A terrifying scream of incomprehensible noise melted the very souls of whatever poor beings were near the rift, and out came gods of red and white. Nearby faction space was obliterated by mind-melting weapons fired by ships that were faster, stronger, and better in every way. Even nearby asteroids became corrupted with the scream of the universe and turned a blood red with deadly protrusions.

Then, as quickly as it started, the universe became silent once more. The new gods of the universe kept to themselves, and seemed to obliterate any surveillance craft that came near. Most factions went back to living life the way they used to, but the new promise of eternal power inspired greed in many.

Will you let the gods sleep or will you invade their territory in hopes to be the first to unlock the secrets of the universe?

-Lore if you play as Antecedents:-
You plant a seed of life and cultivate it. It is hard and boring work, but the tether must go deeper. As the seed blossoms, you watch to see how it develops. It seems you have gotten lucky. This seed of life has more seeds that are growing by themselves within it. You close your eyes and transfer your mind within. Your subordinate legions follow. You open your eyes, and see some curious lifeforms. You almost feel a twinge of regret when a vague memory of protecting the galactic species pushes itself into your memory, but you quickly remember why you are here. The tether must be upheld. And these creatures cannot interfere with the existing seeds lest a dark memory from your past returns and there is nowhere to run. You raise your hand to give a signal, and open fire on the lifeforms. You had your rest before you went through the rift. Now there is work to be done.

Hmm. Jammy had a point. I think what he was trying to express was the frustration encountered
by some of us when we discover that a newly enabled ships/faction mod has, well, material out-of-balance with existing mods loaded. And...that's a very diplomatic way of saying "Hey,this mod sure looks nice, and is well done. Wish we'd noticed something in your documentation blurb that pointed-out relative power-level vs.,say,vanilla." (and that's as constructive as you;ll get, sir. Nice work, can't use it tho. Thanks, though.) :steamsalty:

Very nice storyline. It seems you are a writer,as well as a programmer. One skill sometimes resides with the other,I have noticed. ;) Do you practice Zen? You express a meditative angle here...but also one of higher awareness. Uncommon.

Checking to see if I can get an invite to the Reassembly discord. The one posted in comments below looks like it's expired.

If you don't like the mod then don't play it. You don't have to throw salt in comments

You are awesome. We need more modders like you, who read and respond to the posts. I really hope to see more future mods from you. Each faction is like a whole new campaign and completely different strategy.

I admit though, that my favorite is the Chalce Collective. I love the way your promote asymmetry and broadside fighting.

There are a few options of learning
Reassembly discord has a lot of people willing to teach. If you join, you can ping me for help: https://discord.gg/sDgxchWr

There are also some guides that can help you get started. I would strongly recommend this one by prototype, but I've also made a shitty video guide if you're interested

How did you make custom blocks?

Whenever I make faction mods, I usually try to keep everything balanced and then throw in 2-3 funny weapons with 0 regard for any fairness

So far the only "crazy" weapons are the thermite cannion and the harbringer but the harbringer doesnt explode on contact.
