Baikonur Cosmodrome

Description
Hello Comrade. Welcome to layout of world's premier non-capitalist spaceport, Baikonur Cosmodrome.

Background: The Baikonur Cosmodrome was originally constructed in the early 1950s to accommodate the USSR's fledgling space program. As the space race sped up, the facility was expanded over a wider and wider area, which when coupled with the ever increasing size of the program's boosters led to a difficult time getting rockets to the launchpad. The solution was the construction of an isolated railway network from the assembly buildings to the launchpads. This layout depicts that network, as well as some other noteworthy locations.

The Layout: This layout is much larger than either of my previous layouts, and as such includes much more empty space in between points of interest. This is not innacurate, the real life Baikonur sits in the middle of nowhere in western Kazakhstan, and is very barren. As for locations that aren't just scrubland, the layout features the following;
  • The Soyuz/Progress assembly building, where the majority of boosters are produced.
  • Site 112, the assembly complex for the massive N1 rocket, as well as the Soviet space shuttle Buran.
  • The maintenance facility for the railway.
  • The dual launchpads for the Soyuz and Proton boosters.
  • Launch Complex 110, used for the N1 and the Buran.
  • The shuttle landing runway and hangar. This runway also has a built-in landing sequence for the Buran quickmod!
The layout also features a "dynamic launchpad" system. This means that all the launchpads will be unnocupied in large-scale view, but various boosters and rockets can be spawned onto the pads by going into miniature-mode in specific points on the layout! An image tutorial for this system is above.

Required Mods: This is my first layout where I have made dedicated props and quickmods to accompany it. Not only are prop mods of certain rockets included, there are also quickmods of the Soyuz carrier cars! All of these mods are linked in the required items. The only one of these I did not create was the TEM2, which is an excellent mod by Akandr which just happens to be the locomotive used at the cosmodrome. All of these mods are required for the layout to load properly, so make sure to subscribe to them all.

Acknowledgements: This layout more than either of my previous ones has been a community effort. The members of the Rolling Line discord were very tolerant of my many questions about blender, so big thanks to them for putting up with me. But the biggest thank you goes to Trailblazer963, who not only encouraged me to keep working but actually helped work on large portions of this layout. Thanks you so much man, I could not have done this without you.

Enjoy the layout!

Aw man. Ok that's fine.

It's a livery of the stock sleeper to make it resemble the Baikonur support car. I decided not to include it because it's not very good.
