since there isn't much info about it's machanics, I'll just say some things I've noticed.
You start out with a life giving amulet.
you cannot eat plant related food, but you can eat meat (even cooked meat)(no bonus for it though, and monster meat still does damage).
You have full night vision and move much faster at night or in caves
I don't see any special items in the survivor item tab
