Description
German Class 181.2 electric bi-system locomotive. Developed for international services to France, the 181.2 was the continuation of several multi-system locomotives which had proven unreliable. Therefore, the DC compatibility was dropped while top speed and power increased slightly. The 181.2 provided 3300 kW power and was capable of 160 kph. 25 units were built, the last of which was withdrawn in late 2018 after more than 40 years of service. 4 were named (Lorraine, Luxembourg, Saar, Mosel).

Often the international trains they pulled were mixed with 1 coach provided by DB or SCNF and the rest from the other operator.
