Ares Class MK5 Experimental Dreadnought

During the last 3 years of the war, Resurgent battleships kept getting more and more advanced. Some of their newer ships could easily engage the Renation armies best ship the Ares Class. The Renation navy heavily depended on their Ares Class Dreadnoughts to escort and defend their smaller cruisers and destroyers. Now with the newer Resurgent battleships taking down Ares Classes with relative ease, the Reantion empire decided to hire the engineers at the Golden Legion Industries to build an experimental battleship with higly advanced tech. This new ship was called the Ares Class MK5 and it's construction started 2 years before the end of the war at the Sturn Wing located in the Golden Legion Dockyard territory. This new ship was equipped with all the experimental weapons systems that were being developed by the Renation scientist during that time. The ship was built on a heavily modified Ares chassis and was outfitted with multiple missile launchers. The MK5 also kept the Ares's auto repair systems and improved upon it. The ships armaments consisted of:

- 2 Hybrid Shield Emitters
- 4 250mm Triple Railgun Turrets
- 2 400mm Double Cannons
- 6 203mm Double Cannons
- 2 150mm AC Slinger Cannons
- 3 150mm Double Railgun Turrets
- 2 Gladius Heavy Laser Platforms
- 12 100mm Flak Batteries
- 19 75mm Railgun Turrets
- 34 Light Blister Turrets
- 12 Heavy Blister Turrets
- 2 Mark 9 Kinetic Railguns
- 4 Gimball Laser Turrets
- 2 Gimball Laser Emplacements
- 6 Archer Missile Salvo Pods
- 6 Thermo Heavy Silo Launchers
- 6 M8 Destroyer Launchers
- 4 M1 Torpedo Launchers
- 6 Mobile Mine Layer System (MMLS) Launchers
- 4 EMP Burst Turrets
- 4 PDX Point Defense Armament
- 11 Point Defense Laser Systems

The weapon systems and shielding used on the ship were heavily experimental and were first used while building this ship. The armor was upgraded from the standard Ares Class and had better side and top armor covarage. In addition to the extra armor, new armor skirts were also implemented onto weak points. Due to the amount of power required to use the new weapons systems, a whole new reactor was developed under the short time span of a year. Even with the new Composite Reactor system the ship still didnt have enough power to run all its systems at once. With the new weapons and missiles systems the Ares Class MK5 had an effective range of 10KMs and a kill zone of 5KMs wide.

There were only 2 Ares Class MK5's built, one was named "The Order" and sent to the front lines assigned under the 87th experimental fleet where it later got famous for its devestating power. And the other was lacking most of its armaments and its Composite reactor was replaced with a standart reactor. The ship was later scrapped when the war ended.

During the battle of Sevan-Tepaal, many of the resurgent 23rd fleet was encircled and was close to being wiped out by resurgent forces. It was around this time that the 87th fleet got direct orders to distrupt the encirclement and relieve the 23rd of preassure. A small element of 87th was deployed onto Sevan-Tepaal consisting of multiple Arion MK4's, Ares Mk3's and the infamous "The Order". While the Arions provided direct fire support, The Order and other Ares Class ships moved in for a pincer attack and managed to break a hole in the enemy line. This allowed the encircled 23rd to exploit the chaos and take down many confused enemy ships whilest breaking out of the encirclement. Resurgent forces quickly realised that they were fighting The Order which had taken down many of their ships before so the Resurgent admiral ordered all ships to prioritise it. The Order's escort was quickly taken out as all the enemy ships started to fire open them and The Order was exposed. Admiral Thran Laand who was the commanding officer of The Order decided to buy the 23rd enough time to excape while he tried to direct all fire towards his ship. He was succesfull and the 23rd did escape but his ship was badly damaged as most of the critical systems were damaged and the ship was barely holding on. Admiral Tharn had to make the though decision of making an uncalculated FTL jump since their Flight computer was malfunctioning and they didnt have enough time to fix it and calculate a path. The order issued an emergency jump and dissapeared off of the galaxy. The whereabouts of "The Order" are still unkown and no one has yet to find the ship and the experimental tech that it carried with it.

Out Of Lore Stuff

In order to fire the missiles, hop into the seat on the left side and select the third page. Pressing any button from 3-7 will fire a type of missile. Pressing 4 will start deploying the minefield. You can also use the 2 mac cannons on the ship by selecting the 4th page. The seat on the right is for switching between ammo types and toggling weapons. @thu_cybersoldier44 go to Load World select your world, and click on edit. After that click on advanced an uncheck the box that says enable block limits.
