Fog Controller

Description

Just a little something tripwire forgot to add in the video options

So what this do ?
you can set a default fog start and end in all the maps for better fps or if you want to see more of the map and as a bonus you can change the DEFAULT fog color. If the map have a custom fog color this it's not going to work


You can configure all inside FogControllerVars.ini

[FogController.FogController] #FogStart always < FogEnd. # Fog Start fDefaultFogStart=1800.0 # Fog End fDefaultFogEnd=2400.0 # Default Fog Color Override. # This is only for maps with the default fog color R=128,G=128,B=128. bFogColorR=0 bFogColorG=0 bFogColorB=0 bFogColorA=255 #Fog Transparency


Note: I tested this mod only in solo mode maybe works too on host game or dedicated servers


Disclaimer: be aware some fog colors can't blend well with certain skyboxes also some maps don't like to have a fog too close or too far this is not mutator fault its just Unreal being Unreal


ALSO you need to restart the game every time you made changes in FogControllerVars.ini


Things to do if i have more time to learn UnrealScript:
  • Add a TAB in the Ingame/Esc menu for easy config.
  • Add a Button to enable or disable custom fog ingame.
  • Add profiles for specific exceptions.

Oh ty for this, i have just been using the console command when i played solo. Also i think it was intentional that they removed the option.

Do you also have a download link since the workshop wont download most of the time?

Im sorry idisturbed you. I found the problem. I was just stupid and didnt place the .u inside the system folder to upload cuz im using a separate KF instance to code stuff.

i dont know, i on linux but the killing floor sdk it's working fine with proton(steam tool to run windows games/tools on linux) if it works for me maybe for you too if you are on windows try to verify cache in the Killing floor SDK, update your system libraries also i tried multiple times to upload this mod because it throw a upload error

ONe Question buddy. How did you managed to upload this to the workshop? SInce ages the KF Editor does not do its job anymore. May you have any tipp for a person trying to upload right now?
