Also, if multiple people interpret your wording "wrongly" then it's not the people reading it that's at fault but rather you and your grammar skills.
Also, not sure what's stopping him from modifying the ship.
The flea is built with the rather low storage it has to keep it cheap and mobile and allow it to burrow into asteroids.
A ship with more storage will be more expensive to build and be less agile as it will be heavier. If thats what you want that is totally fine, but this ship simply isn't meant to be be a big cargo monster. Trying to turn it into one would likely result in a worse ship than one that has been designed with this aim in mind from the start.
Which is fine, just get a different ship.
It has enough storage for the way I use it, which is short trips back and forth from a camp to get the resources to gradually build a base or a bigger SV.
