Ryde BRT Road - 2L 2W

Description

Ryde City Infrastructure - Ryde BRT Road - 2 Lane 2 Way

Disclaimer! This is my first ever attempt at modifying a road asset. I *hope* that everything works as intended. If not, please feel free to comment below, or reach-out to me through the Ryde Discord (link below).

What is this?

A set of two roads that will allow you to build a separate Ryde BRT network in your city. This is the first set of approx. 5 or 6 roads that will be released over the next couple of weeks.

This is a modified version of Delta 5-1's amazing Vanilla+ 2Lane 2Way Road. I have simply changed the colour of the road and modified the bus stops to be the BRT Stations.

Some Notes

- make sure road is flat before making the stops, otherwise they look a little wonky...
- roads are not zoneable
- shares textures
- ground, elevated, and tunnel versions
- there are two different roads in this pack:
- version 1 is the road where you can add stops on the ground, and the ground version has sidewalks. The elevated and tunnel versions do not have sidewalks
- version 2 is the road where there are no sidewalks on any version, and you canno't place BRT stops.
- use the version without sidewalks between your BRT stops, keeping your CIMS from walking along your road.
- you'll need TM:PE to set the road to allow buses only.
- you can use the Ryde BRT Station - Stairs/Elevator to finish off these stations and connect them to other areas
- The Ryde BRT Props are required for this asset to work
- use Intersection Marking Tool to add whatever road lines you wish!

So I tried the Adaptive Prop Visibility Distance mod and it fixed the problem with the LODS that I mentioned in my first comment, so you might want to add that as a dependency for it.

I noticed some weird node looking things when I was doing the TM:PE lines in the BRT stations and I think that's what's stopping the pathing. Here's an image
The error I got trying to place a bus stop on the 4 lane with median road.
Trying to move the bus stop but no path

Thanks for answering so quickly if you've got life stuff going on right now, I completely understand that taking priority. So I just re-tested and I get some interesting behaviour from the other roads and the BRT stations on roads. If I try and put a bus station on the four lane two-way road, I get an asset error. For the roads with the medians in the middle, I can't move an existing bus stop to the middle but I can create a new stop there. It doesn't create a prop station though. Stops on the side of the road do work for existing bus stops but doesn't generate props if it was meant to. I used TM:PE and I have the stop selector mod and tried pressing SHIFT and it didn't work. With the BRT stations, even with TM:PE lanes set up like in the picture, the lane tried to u-turn when I tried to put the stop next to the shelter but couldn't find a way out. Strangely, a bus line did path through the station without stopping.

I appreciate the feedback. These were some of my first assets and I've learned since then. The LOD is generated by the game. I have a ton of things on the go right now with life, I may get back to these sometime.

I managed to get these working, unlike some of the other roads (I'm going to recheck one of them but it literally gave me an asset error like ten times for trying to place a bus stop). But the LOD is really weird on the stops, it becomes all distorted much early than anything around it. I do use ULOD but even when I put the prop distance up, it still happened. @macluk Yes! It works just like a normal road but these BRT stations appear when you place a stop.

No way! :) Is that bus shelter that is as a seperate prop (the one in required items list), is it built in in this network? :) As in popping up automatically when placing a bus line? :)
