Description
Don't Starve Together - Definitive Edition

This bundle is a collection of gameplay enhancements tailored into one suite, that aims to bring favorite items and flawed (e.g. "nerfed") mechanics back on track!

Moreover, this mod should be compatible with future game updates. All mod parts were adapted to use official DST Mod API, which should increase resilience to minor updates e.g. item balance. Major updates that heavily change or add/remove game mechanics, may still break things. Also, most of redundant codebase was removed or replaced with simpler code, for hardening purposes and sufficient results, while not straying too far from the original idea.

Gameplay Enhancements
  • Break The Ice (original by nailertn and negitaro)
  • Birdcage aka Feather Farm (original by charlie)
  • Thermal Stone (original by tekture)
  • Boomerang (original by Ezzaroth)
  • Hammer (simple tweaks and settings)
  • Backpack(s) (simple tweaks and settings)

Each mod part can be enabled or disabled independent of other parts!

Also, individual mod parts were given more detailed configuration options for easier balancing and compatibility with other DST mods.

Development Roadmap

This bundle aims to include mods that are server_only_mod, so other players don't have to download or subscribe to anything, except the player that is hosting the game world.

I try to keep an eye on new mods that may end up being included into this bundle. Some older mods are often in a bad shape, being unmaintained and often broken as f**k, to the point of simply crashing the game each time. Also, some popular mods were obsoleted by the game itself as it evolves with each major update.

Additionally, I also try to find, fix and adapt mods that are lazily marked as all_clients_require_mod but in reality are server_only_mod to, again, save other players unnecessary downloads.

The mods that were added to the bundle in the first place, are mostly related to early game items and mechanics, since those are often underrated and/or retired early. I wanted them to be more fun and rewarding early on, with possibility to last for the long game. I like Winter the most so Break The Ice and Thermal Stone mods were early adopters.

Mods that may be viable to adpot:
  • Stack Tweaker (by dewy)
  • ?

Deer God! It's invisible!

Since I am NO graphics designer and don't really want to use any stock art or images, I would like to commission any pixel-related work to actual artists. At this moment, that includes the mod icon on Steam Workshop page and the in-game list mod icon. I should be able to add couple gameplay screenshots here and there by myself.

Sooo, if you're young and eager visual FX artist, feel free to show-off your work here! <wink>

Missing Art:
  • Steam Workshop icon (pending...)
  • In-Game List icon (pending...)

End Notes

If you're an author of one of mods adapted in this bundle, and for some reason don't want me to use your work as I currently am, contact me for details of future use of your mod and/or idea.
