This is an interface module between my train control system and a traction drive system that operates by sending a throttle signal to an electric motor.

How the electricity for driving the motor is procured is not a part of the standard.

Locomotives that operate by sending the throttle signal to an engine but use the electric motor as a final drive should use the train engine drive control module instead.

Update: When a battery level signal is present, this controller now uses that signal and divides it out of the throttle signal to achieve constant torque as long as sufficient charge is available. No changes to compatibility. Just makes locos ride a bit smother.
