Kakariko Village (ALttP)

Description
(WIP v0.61) A voxel translation of Kakariko Village from The Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past for sandbox mode, with some liberties taken. Includes a few destructive toys hidden around the place.

Feedback and ideas are appreciated, but refer to the to-do list below first.

Please do not redistribute any original or modified version of this map (or its component parts/scripts) without explicit permission!

New in v0.6
  • New areas: Smithy, fortune teller and their neighboring areas on the north side of the map
  • Interiors for the hideout basement and the northwest cave
  • Moved some of the toys and props into the new areas
  • Skybox texture and preliminary "1/8th scale" skybox model (looks extremely blocky up close, will probably do something about that)
  • Some minor map interactions
  • General minor visual changes and reworking of editor structure/hierarchies (regrouping objects, using compounds etc., for better culling/destruction behaviour and theoretically better performance which is probably counteracted by the map's overall growth)
  • (v0.61: Updated version checking and smoke particle script for game version 0.7.x)

To-do
  • Continued work on editor structure/hierarchies
  • Visual improvement pass on the indestructible envelope of the map
  • Startup menu with weather / time of day choices etc.
  • Smithy cave interior
  • Music / custom sound effects (will likely create my own just to be above board on copyright)
  • Southern library/minigame area (maybe - the area's pretty awkward because of inconsistent ground level differences)
  • More areas included in the skybox model, visual improvements to the nearby parts
  • Some representation of NPCs/chickens etc.
  • More "play features" and general polish

(No plans to expand the playable area anywhere past the immediate surroundings of the main village. The full light world (even ignoring probable performance issues) becomes impossible to stitch together well because of inconsistencies in ground levels and normally unseen map edges - and in terms of Teardown gameplay, most of the game world doesn't offer nearly as much of actual interest as Kakariko does.)
