Description
The Bombardier Electrostar (sold as the ADtranz Electrostar until 2001) is a family of electric multiple-unit (EMU) passenger trains manufactured by Bombardier Transportation (formerly ADtranz) at their Derby Litchurch Lane Works in England between 1999 and 2017. Since the privatisation of British Rail, it has become the most common new EMU type in the United Kingdom, where different variants referred to as Class 357, Class 375, Class 376, Class 377, Class 378, Class 379 and Class 387. Electrostars are most common on the high-volume suburban commuter routes in North, South and East London, and mainline services south of London to the Surrey, Sussex, Kent & South Essex coasts and north to Cambridge and Stansted Airport. It shares the same bodyshell and core structure as the Bombardier Turbostar, which is in turn the most common post-privatisation diesel multiple unit (DMU) family, and both evolved from the Class 168 Clubman design by ADtranz.

Immensely huge thanks to MrTransportGuy for providing the train graphics

Built with schema 2 compatibility!

@happyhugo66 By default all the trains in the game run slower than their top speed, rather they run at a slightly lower "cruise" speed. This means if a train is late ittl run at full speed to catch up, although it is unrealistic. This is why the 387 runs at 159km/h, as ittl speed up to 177 to catch up if its late. You can change the cruise speed under timing settings to the full speed of the train, and it will disable this feature, however, it will mean trains are less likely to stick to the timetable and more waiting will be done at the chosen stations if there are delays, possibly causing delays at your termini.

The 387 does not reach 177kph it only reaches 159kph as its top speed

Im loving the electrostars, its really helping my southern region build, but can i ask if you have any plans for the Networkers and the 376 Electrostar?

I think the capacity of these is a little low. In-game a 12 car 377 can only hold 680 pax, whereas we know a 12 car 377 train has 798 seats (see http://www.railfuture.org.uk/article1616-Standing-room-only) - adding standees probably gives a capacity around 1200.

Hi! I love this mod for the part of my network I am building in the UK, as these are quite commonly used EMUs. However can I please request that the price is changed a bit? Currently for a 4-car Class 387 EMU the in-game cost is $25.5m. This looked expensive, and I could find for example a news report that the Gatwick Express ordered 27 4-car sets in 2014 for £147m, so about 5.4 per set or $7.6m in the USD the game uses for a 4 car set. The rest of the stats look great, even the power matches the real power exactly!
