Moo Reproduction

Description
Allows Gassy Moos to reproduce when ranched, providing a method of sustaining their population.

Features
  • Gassy Moo diet and Natural Gas production remains unchanged.
  • Moos can reproduce if in the same room as another Moo, and give live birth to Gassy Moolets.
  • When tamed, Moos will provide up to 7 offspring per parent during their lifetime, which remains unchanged at 75 cycles.
  • Wild Gassy Moos in the same room as another Gassy Moo will still produce one baby per lifetime, mitigating extinction before the player can obtain them from the Moo Moonlet.
  • Gassy Moo Meat drops on death reduced to 2 kg (1 kg for babies).

Options
Disable Moo Meteors - Prevents Moo Meteors from falling and new Gassy Moos from being summoned, to avoid an exponential build up of Gassy Moos
  • Disabled - Moo Meteors will fall normally
  • Enabled (default) - No Moo Meteors will fall, but Gassy Moos can still reproduce normally before the planetoid is visited; this option can be changed on existing saves in case Moos become extinct. Gassy Moos will also never call for new Moo Meteors when fed.

Noticed a problem that baby moolets are not wranglable through critter pickup stations. The option shows in the menu but nobody ever comes to grab them

'New Moo-lody

Gassy Moos can now reproduce—sort of. Once a domesticated Moo has consumed enough Gas Grass, they belt out operatic moos that echo across the galaxy, which attracts a new member to that asteroid's herd via the infamous Gassy Mooteor.' @ Song of the Moo

If they could get cramped, there would be no issue with overpopulating as a result of mooteor mechanic either.

I think that you should add a way for them to become cramped, like egg laying creatures like hatches do

I love this mod a lot, Especially with the butcher station mod alongside it.

Some words of warning for anyone installing this mod today:

1. Gassy Moos are now renewable, just not by reproduction.

They fall from the sky via "Gassy Mooteors", which obsoletes this mod somewhat. There is still a use case for this mod if you prefer to ranch them through traditional means.

2. Gassy Moo population runs rampant on the Moo Moonlet

Because Gassy Moos now renewably fall from the sky and this mod makes wild Moos reproduce, having this mod installed will have runaway growth to the gassy moo population on the surface of the planet. If this mod made Moos get "cramped" somehow, this would be avoided.

3. Removing this mod crashes the game on old savefiles when clicking on a critter dropoff point.

I think this is because the mod adds the _baby_ version of the Gassy Moo, whereas the standard DLC game doesn't have baby moos. I see messages in the player.log about a missing sprite for "MooBaby".

The mod is currently only for the DLC but I am pretty sure Gassy Moos do not reproduce in vanilla, I haven't gotten into rocketry so I have no idea if Gassy Moos reproduce in vanilla.
(I don't have the DLC currently)
