Carl Wheezer's Revenge

Description
The Carl Wheezer's Revenge was designed to be an attack sub capable of fighting off large swarms of enemies. Like the Aphrodite, it has many well placed hardpoints and well-thought out compartment placement to make damage control less dangerous. Unlike the Aphrodite, it is much smaller and can be effectively manned by as little as 3 crew.
Main features
  • Configurable door security
  • Self destruct function
  • Trash chute for disposing of dead bodies and trash
  • Efficient and compact room layout
  • An electric grid that is easy to repair and maintain
  • Various optional security features for easier server moderation
  • Dedicated jail cell
  • Useful status monitors such as a "how f*cked are we" meter, a "pro-tip" display, employee of the month and more
  • The junction box room has a decidated junctionbox-free backup pump.
  • Always-dry potassium storage closet (obsolete because of the update but I left it in because it's cool)

So how does the door security system work?
There is a control panel on the bridge where you can configure the door access security for engineering, medical, the bridge, the armory and the self-destruct room.

So what do the colored door security lights on the bridge mean?
  • Green means all-access. This means anyone with any id can enter.
  • Blue means it will go into "lockdown" mode during flooding. Anyone can enter a room locked-down due to flooding using a blue button that will be next to the locked-down door. This temporarily overrides the lockdown.
  • Red means restricted access. This means only people with the corresponding id card can enter. For example only the doctor can enter the medbay if it's put into restricted mode and only the security officer can enter the armory if it's in restricted mode.
All lockable doors have a text display next to them showing what security mode they are in. This reduces player confusion since it should be blatantly obvious why a door is telling them they don't have security clearance.
It must be noted that the captain is not subject to door security rules. The only doors the captain cannot open are doors that are locked-down due to flooding. Anyone can use the flooding override button to temporarily open a flooding locked-down door. This includes the captain.

Note that due to the medbay's location, the security system works by opening either the hatch or the door. One is set to medical id only, the other is set to all access. One of these doors will always be open and no, the door isn't broken.

Wiring has been disabled on all security doors for a reason. This is because people normally try to rewire the doors to bypass the security and end up colossally screwing things up.

How does the self-destruct room work?
It's pretty simple. Whoever enters has to first release all 5 failsafes. The "armed" light will come on. Then, simply press the big red button and BOOOM!!

Worried about griefers? Simply enable "surprise mode" using the button on the bridge. The submarine will automatically deal with anyone who tries to enter the panic room when this button is active and will do so without harming anyone else.

How does the trash chute work?
The trash chute is a simple vertical airlock. It can even be used to enter/exit the submarine. It's main purpose is to make it easy to dispose of trash and dead bodies.

Both the trash chute and the main airlock can be disabled from the bridge. Both the trash chute and the airlock also have an automatic close circuit so if people keep leaving them open causing the ship to ascend slower the submarine will automatically close them. There is no way to disable this (not that you would want to). Wiring has been disabled on all the airlock doors and buttons to prevent griefers from bypassing the security system to flood the entire ship.

How f*cked are we status monitor explained
This submarine features a "how f*cked are we" status monitor. This makes it easy to see what condition the ship is in at a glance. The 4 levels of f*cked are
  • Not f*cked
  • Kinda f*cked
  • Pretty f*cked
  • Press f to pay respects
The system takes into account the number of flooded compartments, how well the junction box network is working, stored battery power and what the reactor is doing in order to calculate a level of "how f*cked we are".

Additional status monitors
There are a total of 3 other status monitors that are a little less useful but I will still explain them.
  • The pro-tip display. This displays not-very-useful tips about gameplay. It was originally going to display useful tips but due to the limit of decimal places certain components were limited to when I built the system, I wasn't able to fit very long strings into it. It now scrolls between 8 different strings showing things like "morphines some good ♥♥♥♥" or "water is wet".
  • The employee of the month display. To increase crew morale, you can assign an employee of the month. The terminal to change the employee of the month is located on the bridge.
  • A "number of days since last fatality" monitor. This can be edited from the bridge.

How to use the electric room backup pump
The junction box room has a dedicated pump and a dedicated battery that only powers this pump. The purpose of this is so that if all the junction boxes are broken and the entire submarine is flooded, You only need to repair the pump and the battery in order to drain the electric room. This way, you don't have to undertake the futile task of repairing all the junction boxes while they're submerged and breaking faster than they can be repaired.

To turn on the dedicated backup pump, press the button next to the smaller battery which is next to all the labels about the backup pump. You should probably turn it off after the entire submarine is repaired just so the dedicated pump battery can recharge and be ready for next time.

The electric room also has a conventional pump powered by the regular power grid. You do not need to go through the process of powering up the dedicated pump each time the electric room floods. The dedicated backup pump is only required if all the junction boxes are down and you either can't or don't want to fix them first.
