Expanded Crew

Description
This mod extends the maximum limit of sailors on board to 30.

Compatibility:
b131 and 2022.1, no new career is needed and mod is savegame compatible.
The changed sailor limit will remain through you career, even when you unsubscribe from the mod.
Expanded Crew mod is not compatible with Officer Crew mod from sq_paradox. Since both mods are changing the same thing, you have to choose if you prefer fixed increase in crew amount, or progressively unlocking the limit by hiring more officers.

Features:
► You can take as much as 30 sailors on board, but this might already make the boat feel a bit overcrowded. Recommended amount is about 24 sailors, but try for yourself, to see what works best for you.
► Contrary to the other methods, you can apply the change immediately to your ongoing career.

Planned features:
I will try to include other tweaks over time, like making the crew running when in emergency, forcing the sailor going to bed, or generally give them some work to not simply stand around. Suggestions are welcome. *Update* I have tried to add some of those while ago, like going to the toilet or cleaning toilet, but with limited success.

► ► ► Customizing the max. amount of sailors:
As I expected, the default amount might be not enough for some, so here is a quick guide how to change the amount on your own locally in the mod files:
► Go to location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\[UserId]\2381662603\Source
► Open file: ExpandedCrewPatches.cs with you favorite text editor.
► You will see that there is number 30f; on two locations in the file, just change it to whatever you like on both places, for example to 48f;
► Save the file and launch the game. The changed amount will apply immediately even when you load existing save.

No guarantees when you change it to some extreme numbers :) Also be careful with lowering the number while you actually have more sailors on board, I have not tested that.
Word of warning however, there might be issues like sailors blocking each other or you in first person mode when playing with 40+ sailors.

I recommend subscribing to the discussion thread below to be notified in case of updates, as the game launcher sometimes do not notice new update. In case you do not have the latest version, just unsubscribe and re-subscribe to the mod, restart the launcher and enable the mod in the launcher again.

Please check out my other mods as well on salamander's Workshop.

If you experience problems, please check my When the mods don't work... guide and write in the discussion below the mod if the basic steps from the guide have not helped you. Steam ID of the mod is: 2381662603

Thank you!

► ► ► Adjusting Alligator's Device Energy Consumption mod to work with the changed sailor amount:
► Search in your steam workshop folder for the file: MODConfig.xlsx
In my case it is located under this path below, it depends where the steam is installed, but the path should be roughly like this:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\494840\2586566270\Data Sheets
► Edit the toggles in the xlxs and save it, it looks like the realistic air consumption can be only toggled on/off, the water can be tweaked more precisely.

Salamander has been MIA for some time. We do not know if or when he will return.
It has yet to be decided what to do with his mods.

Hey Derek! Is it okay if I make a mod to increase crew capacity using your findings?

I should add these changes are NOT savegame compatible, so keep that in mind.
