The stryker is used in most small fighter-fighter engagements, where the outcome of the battle is determined by the skill of the pilots, and not the size of one's cannons. Most frigates on the Nexus Interplanetary Defense Force typically carry between 6 and 10 Strykers, among other small craft. A carrier class will normally carry between 15-30 Strykers.

The Mk1 predates the Stryker by nearly 6 months in space technology, but is still widely used in private defense forces. They are occasionally still used in the NIDF, a subfleet of the (LSG) Space Engineers Empire.
