The D variant was developed from the C variant, pilots wanted even more combat range and a lot wanted the same optical suite that was on the B variant, so the D variant takes the best from both B and C, the back was extensively modified and overall acceleration improved although a bit, the number of Hydrogen Tanks was increased from 11 to 17 and 5 LAMP cameras are added to increase the targeting range of the Torpedoes up to 5KM.

All those improvements were welcomed by pilots and all C variants were to be updated to the D standard

The D variant even competed against the XF-02 Space Falcon and won much to the dismay of Ferrum Industries that developed the Falcon.
