Description
“Wolfshammer in motion, king of the ocean”

Dimensions: 146x46

Price: 100.000

Class: Attack

Recommended Crew Size: Yes

Recommended Crew Experience: Experienced

Description:
Filling both a heavy carrier and battleship role, U-500 “Wolfshammer“ represents the pinnacle of Europan submarine warfare. Its inner dock can fit basically any medium-size sub, thus allowing large crews to form a formidable kill team. But don’t let hubris get the better of you: The hulk’s vast expanse will keep you busy to just stay afloat, not to mention any possible husks or traitors on board. And good luck steering through any canyon with this absolute unit!

Main Features
  • A mighty armament befitting the terror of the seas, including two twin-barrelled railgun turrets and numerous gun batteries
  • A double-layered shell to withstand repeated attacks
  • A vast dock able to harbour submarines up to 40 metres in length, by default containing a Tadeus Submarine
  • Two additional docking ports for “Cod”-Type exploration/escape shuttles
  • A total of 15 decks to navigate through and explore – helps to have a map!

Background
An eerie silence hung over the flagship’s command deck, one which only the steady sonar ping was bold enough to interrupt. The grizzled man on the helm was sunken deep in thought, and every bridge crew member that served long enough under his command knew it was best to keep it that way.

At long last, the Admiral had his target in sight.

He was never in favour of Coalition’s laissez-faire stance towards submariner privatisation. At least it kept good lads like his away from the dirty work; there seemed to be no shortage of adventurers willing to throw themselves at any danger if the price was right. Wartime refits like the Tadeus Class, however, were another matter entirely: These weapons of destruction should have never got into the hands of freelancers or, worse still, into those of veteran Earth mercenaries.

Tadeus’ dubious approval process by local Coalition Police had finally caught up to High Command who subsequently revoked any “official” licenses. Now, with the formerly hidden mercenary sub-yard revealed, the Admiral set out to settle the score in person. He brought an entire strike force with him, just to be on the safe side. Never know what dirty tricks these folks have got up their sleeves once caught and cornered.

Suddenly, the sonar picked up a signature, far too large to match any listed profile. Ordering all hands to battle stations, the Admiral’s thoughts started spinning. Were they dealing with a mobile installation after all? An abyssal leviathan, that close to shallow waters? Perhaps a tight attack formation messing with the sonar resonance...

As a keel the height of an outpost emerged from the watery mist and cut the leading scout clean in half, it dawned on the Admiral. He was thrown back to his early days of service during Earth’s last Great War; a time when mighty submerged battleships were the undisputed apex predators and threatened coastal nations with nuclear devastation. Never would he have imagined that such monstrosities could continue their reign of terror on Europa, not with the constant scarcity in resources and manpower. Yet here he stood, staring at a beast made of steel that was hammering his fleet single-handedly.

Then, for what felt like the first time in years, he smiled.

The old man feared that his last days at sea would be wasted with petty policing. Yet fate had other plans in store and presented him with the ultimate challenge, a monster hunt like no other. And a chance to die with glory. Without a second thought, he signalled all other vessels to retreat; his flagship would make a final stand so that the lads could live to fight another day. To his surprise, not one of his officers wanted to miss out on the fun. Stubborn fools, as always - but who was he to deny their death wish when he was longing for his own?

After the last escape shuttle disembarked and headed back to base, the Admiral set sail one last time. And as he struck up one last shanty, every voice joined in to dispel the silence.

To-do
  • Additional features to enhance large multiplayer sessions/roleplay/traitor gameplay
  • QoL additions wherever appropriate, i.e. more information labels
  • Jettison airlock / artifact holder
  • Attempt to manually fix bot pathfinding issues Waypoints fixed

Known issues
  • FPS drops during intense encounters – older CPUs with low clockspeed might struggle!
  • Occasional audio stutters, also seemingly connected to lower-end CPUs
  • Occasional rubberbanding, depending on the host’s internet connection
  • Oxygen drops on command bridge, source unknown
  • AFAIK, bots cannot enter shuttles which means you have to operate them by your own!

I would love to use this ship, but it is leaking water at multiple places; also, would it be possible to update the ship equipment to depend on updated mods or remove those dependency equipment?

all the lights dont need power, would be cool for this submarine to actually need copious amounts of fuel
Stank Lizard 13 Jul, 2023 @ 6:48pm
seems really cool but the lights cut off at certain angles and the furthest right junction box room has a hole
