Hello, I'm JTPNZ and this is my latest skin submission.

'Ghouls in Town' has an inspiration from Thailand's tradition, 'Phi Ta Khon' which is a festival that takes place in Dan Sai, Loei province. I wanted to share this interesting story through my art out to the world.



The origin of this tradition came from the Jataka tale about the previous incarnation of the Buddha. When he went out into the woods, wild ghosts and ghouls came to send him back to the town and traveling along. Surprisingly when they left the town, they took bad luck and sorrow from the town out with them. Therefore, it is believed that this festival will help banish bad spirits from the town.



'Phi Ta Khon' at the magazine references the belief that if people plays or dresses as them, they must remove the costume and throw it away to discard the misery and bad things then wait until next year to make a new one.



The pattern is a typography design of Thai word, 'ผีตาโขน' to match the overall aesthetic.
