[CAD] Heracles-class Planetary Assault Transport

An aging yet venerable vessel, the Heracles-class Planetary Assault Transport was one of the first true military vessels manufactured at a CAD drydock. Don't let it's sparse armament of only a PDC grid fool you, this ship is designed with the sole purpose of carrying as many strike craft, dropships, and assault rovers as it can in it's hangars, to assault and occupy hostile territory as quickly as possible.

Equipped with an impressive display of storage compartments, the Heracles has ample room for dropships and interceptors alike. A bow-mounted hangar has 4 connection ports, perfect for interceptors or smaller strike fighters to be sortied at a moment's notice. Behind and below this are 2 drop bays for lighter vehicles, usually Ant LRVs if operated by the CAD, but this can be replaced with anything that can fit in a 5 wide 4 long space. On the 'wings' of the Heracles sit 2 external docking clamps for vehicles simply too heavy or bulky to be stored internally, and a midships gate on both the port and starboard side covered docking clamps for additional light rovers or vehicles. This hefty vessel also has a 6-connection landing strip upon it's dorsal surface, in ample view of the bridge / ATC combo for ease in operations. An executive pad is placed behind the bridge for visiting dignitaries or to store extra dropships.

The Interior of the Heracles is just as, if not more, space efficient and compartmentalized as it's exterior, with over a dozen bunks and a similar amount of cryopods to carry a truly staggering assault personnel contingent. Due to space planning concerns, however, there is no mess hall for these troops, but instead several decentralized lounges and kitchenettes, but this isn't usually a problem, as it doesn't often carry a full complement. The transport also houses a medical bay with a quarantine room, to allow for the isolation of intensive patients. Finally, the Heracles has 6 WMI pattern infantry drop pods for exo-atmospheric drops, and tests have shown them to be able to land on any celestial body. However, on high-gravity planets like Pertam, they may become unsalvageable, sacrificing the bottom half of the pod to protect the cockpit.
