Crazy high energy to matter blocks have been done before. I like how this makes the basic assembler more than just a stepping stone block.
I was able to get it to work by moving it up on my mod list but when I do I loose the ammo tab in the production menu.
Thanks :) I really just put it up here to use it myself, but before I could switch it to private it already had 10 subs. Happy to see my idea was useful to someone.
@Dread Admin:
I'd be happy to set it up if you can get me a new model, or at least a retexture so we can have a block that actually says "Replicator". Then we can have a new module that is hard to build using 'high end' components and costing lots of power to operate.
Parts requirements are in the same boat, and changing those would defeat the my purpose in making this; I made it to skip the grind of mining rather than it being a reward for spending hours doing boring stuff (for me).
Production time *could* be adjusted easily since that one is actually controlled through the blueprints, though I have 0 experience in PVP and don't know what balanced production times would look like.
That said, you still have to have the ores first so it's not quite something for nothing, and you must be careful with storage or you'll certainly run out while overwhelming your refineries. Lastly, since everyone has the ability to craft basic assemblers and replicate ore, in a PVP situation the only advantage a team gets is when they find ore first.
