Description
Tired of tree of life hive minds not actually colonizing other planets? It's because the AI doesn't budget 1000 food to produce colony ships. This mod provides a super simple fix and doesn't overwrite any game files. On game startup, it give tree of life AI some free colony ships. This should help Tree of Life AI get through the early game, and as it gets into the mid game, it's food production should get high enough to cover the cost of building it's own colony ships.

Can you also make it so non-hive minds can take the Tree of Life origin? At the very least you'd expect it to be available to spiritualists. It doesn't really make sense for the Hive Mind restriction to exist, since every "Tree of Life" trope in fiction that it's based off of doesn't have a hive mind worshiping it.

Okay I just uploaded the most recent change. So as of right now, the Tree of Life AI will get 5 free colony ships at the start of the game. This number can easily be changed. This will cost them 5 energy credits per month (which is negligible). As I said in the previous comment, it is possible to modify the empire planning and food budget, but I prefer to make my mods as compatible as possible with other mods, and modifying those files can cause issues with other mods that fix AI.

Okay I see what I would need to do. The developers have already set it up so that Hive Mind AI focuses on food production; however, the of Tree of Life origin for AI still needs help. I would rather avoid overwriting original game files (makes less compatibility issues with other mods that touch upon these files) - what I will do is give them some free colony ships and that should take care of the early game. By mid-game and late-game, they should have enough food production to cover building more colony ships without the need for help. I'll test it out now.

Today in my testing, I noticed that the Tree of Life origin AI was absolutely steam rolling and it's economy was going through the roof due to too much food production. I have 2 solutions, 1 easy solution, 1 hard solution. The easy solution is to replace the 2x food multiplier with just giving them some free colony ships at the start of the game. The other solution is to learn how to modify AI economy budgets and empire plans. I'm trying to learn how to do that stuff now. Worst case scenario, I can easily just give them some free colony ships on game start.
