TREKORION: Magellan class Fe/Ti frigate

7 slot early game frigate. Iron hull with titanium systems, although it's recommended you upgrade entirely to titanium at the nearest opportunity.

Inspired by the USS Magellan from the Axanar fan film.

Three Magellan class star ships were constructed and tested on an insane difficulty galaxy.

The USS Magellan was built in the home sector at -104:437 and was the only starship of this class to serve with an iron hull. The Magellan would make 14 jumps and successfully engage pirates in 8 sectors. It was destroyed during an encounter in sector -124:391 when two pirate mothership events spawned simultaneously.

The Magellan would be succeeded by two all titanium versions of the craft. The USS Ferdinand constructed in sector -104:437 and the USS Victoria constructed in sector -69:379.

Both titanium variants functioned as early game mains, defeating Boss Swoks twice and serving as primary assault craft beyond the border of titanium and naonite reaches. Standard armaments included 3 exceptional or better anti-matter bolters, and 2 rare or better lasers.

The Magellan would exit service after the USS Ferdinand was destroyed by 2k om hardcore raiders in sector -69:373.
