overall the level design was on point, no sequence felt unfair, just enough ammo to make it
the only sequence that was kind of weak was in that zone before you needed to go down, shooting three combines from three different sides, frustrating fight for sure.
i got so lost in being impressed
at several points
i actually got caught off guard by headcrabs and barnacles!!
i could go through the whole thing, identifying the EXACT tricks valve would use to make their own games great.
i was literally out of breathe for a bit afterwards, processing what i just went through and internalizing that it was not, in fact, a whole ass second game.
i had my jaw on the floor after a certain point onward.
someone get this man a job in a real game company!
this is talent that desperately needs money thrown at it, their is too much love and passion put in this to be put out for "FREE" (2/2)
and let me explain my thought process after a certain point onward:
"BULL-FUCKING-SHIT THIS IS A MOD"
it shot WAY past "hey, this is pretty good
*FOR A FREE MOD"
and went directly towards
"i genuinely mistook this as being made by valve themselves" territory.
AND I DO NOT SAY THOSE WORDS LIGHTLY
fuck, it felt straight up DISRESPECTFUL to call this a
"""MOD"""
i felt like i was playing the half life alyx expansion i was secretly hoping for!
