Knightmare Defense Industries presents the Andromeda Racer, probably the last thing you expected us to build, but we did it anyway! At nearly half the size of the Monoceros Patrol Ship, the Andromeda is the smallest, lightest and fastest ship KDI has ever produced. As you may have expected, it was built for one thing and one thing only, speed. It can accelerate to 100 m/s in nearly 1 second, or faster with small modifications. The ship has an extremely small and spartan interior built for a crew of two. The ship is named after the galaxy and myth of Andromeda, but by total coincidence is also Juliet Andromeda Mao's middle name. If you don't know who that is, go and watch The Expanse, I'll also explain a bit more in the Author's Notes below.

The Andromeda uses pure hydrogen thrust with a handful of hydrogen tanks. Though its drive produces only 29.2 MN of thrust in the forward direction, due to its very light mass, it can accelerate extremely quickly. The ship is equipped with a Jump Drive, Survival Kit, two beds, gravity, a pressurized interior, storage and all the basic things you need. It can easily land on planets, but its recommended to add a landing gear and maybe a parachute before doing so.

The ship is built fully vanilla and survival ready, with an interior in the style of "The Expanse." I use a light changing script to switch around the interior light settings. Its an older script and I couldn't find the original creator. The script was updated by ColTeH for my use. I used some of Whiplash141's scripts on the ship, including their braking script for "flip and burn" situations, and a few of their mods for taking the screenshots. The mods I used to assist with the screenshots came recommended by Taidyr, who makes some fantastic content as well. I used Darth Biomech's Milky Way Skybox mod as well. Links below. I got inspiration for this ship from ships shown in The Expanse RPG book, I highly recommend The Expanse's books and show.

So, after Season 5 Episode 5 of The Expanse, I finally wanted to build something based on the Razorback, which could also achieve vanilla SE speed cap nearly instantly. The result was this. I was going to name it the Mercury Racer, but then saw Andromeda in the background and went for it. Boy oh boy, was that a good choice. I don't know why I didn't realize that I was naming the ship after the pilot of the Razorback from The Expanse, but it fits so perfectly, I love it. Anyways, this ship is really fun to fly, just point and go. I hope you enjoy it.
