[WotC] Chimera Squad Style Stabilize

Description
Features
This mod allows any soldier, SPARKs included, to stabilize an adjacent unit without a Medikit.

The Stabilize ability will only appear when a soldier is in range to use it (like Carry Unit), so it won't clutter your action bar.

Requirements
  • Weapon Skin Replacer: If you don't install WSR, medkits will keep their now-redundant Stabilize ability. It doesn't break anything, but it's a bit of unnecessary clutter.

Compatibility
This mod adds the Stabilize ability to anything flagged by the game as a Soldier, so it should work with most custom units like MEC Troopers. I've included compatibility configuration for Proficiency Class Pack and Bio Division.

It should work fine in ongoing campaigns and be safe to uninstall whenever.

Recommended Companion Mods
  • [WOTC] Alternate Bleedout Mechanics: when used together, these two mods make XCOM pretty durable. Soldiers going down will still hurt, but losing several soldiers will generally be a setback rather than a campaign-ender.
  • [WotC] Mission: Prison Break: This mod generally leads to more soldiers being captured instead of killed. Prison Break gives you a challenging way to get them back.

Yeah that's what I'm guessing happened

Are you making sure you're standing next to the space the soldier was downed in rather than next to the visual model? Soldiers can ragdoll out of their spaces, but the game will still consider the soldier to be whereever it was they were standing when they were downed. You can see an example of this in the screenshots: the soldier model is lying in the middle of the road, but the game considers them to be next to the fence.

I like this mod but sometimes it just decides randomly not to work. I'll go up next to a bleeding soldier and there won't be any stabilize option.

Love this mod, alongside medikits revive and alternate bleedout mechanics it makes it a bit easier to deal with downed soldiers.
