Here kitty kitty!

Felid! 🐯

To be completely honest, this skin has seen many many names, but also many different iterations. I started out this skin not knowing what I wanted to do, but after working on this on and off over the past couple of months I have learned many new techniques and I am quite happy with the end result. I hope you like this first P90 variant of the Felid skins and maybe hit the yes button underneath to support my work. I might have a look at applying this design on more guns in the future as I really enjoy the mix between the tiger pattern and metal.

Work Process 🛠

As aforementioned, before I started this skin I had no clue what I was going for. I wanted to make a P90 skin and was thinking of something along the sci-fi route. I created a folder called 'generic sci-fi' and started playing around with some layouts. The first iterations were just with some solid colours to see if I could get a nice balance and layout and then I went to finding a nice colour combination. At this point I still had no clear direction that I was going for, but I wanted to include some crisp height details on the original model.

This started with the current grip design. I wanted to use the original shape of the P90 and use that shape to create these flowy grips. I created a cut, some actual grippie bits in the grip area and painted it red. After the grip was done I moved onto figuring out an idea again. I played with some colours and felt like I needed something on the top of the stock. This is when I decided on making a little padding on top for the user to rest his cheeks on (like on the SCAR-20). This padding ended up in the final design which I really enjoyed. Initially the pattern was a lot bigger but thanks to some feedback I tweaked the sizing and it ended up looking a lot nicer.

I really enjoy the magazine release button of the P90, it really looks like a nice little slider that requires a nice grip and so as you can see in a WIP picture above I added some shapes to it. I didn't like this design so changed it to the current circular pattern that you can see on the model. After this I moved onto the actual magazine. I wasn't quite sure what to do with it and played around with untill I landed on the current design. Intially I had more height details on the round part of the magazine, but this turned out really weird looking in first person view. Therefore I decided to skip it and keep it a clean metal.

Then came the moment that shifted the whole design around, I introduced the tiger pattern that I had made for the my Carnivore collection. I tweaked the pattern so I had a nice pattern that I could apply to my P90. I wanted to have some gradient but first started with a plain white version. I really liked this look and played around with some more colour combinations. These colour variants will be uploaded to the workshop this week if I manage to process the images in time :)

After incorporating some final feedback time it was time to take screenshots, create some nice renders and upload it to the workshop!

Last Words 👋

I sincerely hope you like this design as it was quite a long journey to land on this final version. You can support me by clicking on the yes button and adding it to your favourites.

Keep an eye out for the other colour variants this week and play some Operation Fang this week!

Love,

Hollandje ❤️
