Description
Purpose
A medium Truck with multiple docking options, some cargo space (2 medium containers and 3 connectors) and a tow hitch for attaching trailers. It is powered by both batteries and a hydrogen system, as well as being equipped with thrusters for both extra power when pulling trailers up hill and keeping the vehicle close to the ground during high speed turns (not recommended with trailer) or in lunar gravity.

Find the DLC version here, the connector has been replaced with a turret.

This is the DLC free version, but still includes the Transparent LCD. this is so that if you have the DLC and want the version with the top connector, you won’t have to grind open the cockpit to replace it.

Features
Speed limit is set to 80 Km/h in this blueprint, for safely towing medium trailers. However if driving without a trailer attached, the Lakan is able to safely increase its speed limit to 240km/h.

The vehicle has 4 forward atmospheric thrusters, and 4 forward hydrogen thrusters, for an extra boost when carrying heavy loads up hill. There are also 2 downward hydrogen thrusters, for keeping the Lakan's wheels on the ground either during high speed turns (not recommended with trailer), while driving in lunar gravity or when climbing particularly steep slopes.

The cockpit is accessible via the small gap just behind the windshield on either side, labeled with a green arrow (as seen in the screenshot).

When driving with a trailer attached, in particular the medium trailers, it is highly recommended to turn off rear wheel steering (toolbar 3, button 6), as this improve trailer stability.

This ship has an empty mass of 28627 kgs.

All Programmable blocks are turned off in this blueprint and all toolbars are the same from the cockpit and remote control.

All ships, vehicles & trailers in this set have a rear mounted Merge block and can be printed using a welder wall with one (large grid) piston. However in this case the merge block is designed to be ground down after printing, all blocks that require removal are painted bright red.

Hi Couch Potato,

I've also encountered this issue, and unfortunately it sometimes happens regardless of what you do.

What I have found does help prevent it sometimes is to grind down the hinge head you will be attaching, then placing it the other way around (although I'm told it shouldn't make a difference, it does seem to for me).

Hello! I've been having troubles with this in workshop the last few days and have been poring for answers in the Space Engineers discord. When I go to connect the truck with a trailer, specifically the ore detector, the hinge on the trailer will forcibly rotate 90 degrees when facing the truck. Not only does this cause the trailer to turn 90 degrees with it, sometimes it causes explosions and general mayhem. Other times it causes the vehicle to go flying. Most times, a mixture of both. I attempted to lengthen the small conveyor tubes on the trailer and therefor the hitch, but to no avail. I personally do not know the reason as to why this occurs and changed darn near every setting on the hinges themselves. I'll be testing more tomorrow but I figured I would post this

Sorry, no idea. That would depend on the mod used to make it AI, but its most likely the remote control block or the AI block that looks like a remote control

I found an AI variant of this and managed to take it over but it still is in an automatic mode. What block would I need to turn off to fix that?

All the controls are on toolbar 5. Use button 1 and 2 to go up and down, button 3 to apply the highlighted option, and button 4 to go back.

If it is not responding, then make sure you have the programmable block "PB Trailer Manager" turned On, as all programmable blocks are turned off by default (to prevent conflicts while printing). If that is still not working, check in your world settings wether you have scripts enabled.

I hope that helps, let me know if you are still haveing trouble after all that.
