Description

Endymion was a Russian Imperial navy 12 gun and two-masted sailing warship, launched on June 16, 1839.
In the Autumn of 1839, she passed from Sevastopol to the mediterranean at the disposal of the Russian envoy to Greece. In 1841, she returned to Sevastopol.
In 1842-1853, as part of the detachments, he was located off the Caucasian coast. In 1853, he came to the Tengin fortification and with the fire of his guns helped repel the attack of 3000 highlanders. Approaching the shore as far as the depth allowed, the fire forced the highlanders to retreat.
She participated in the Crimean war of 1853-1856.
In 1853-1854 she took some Ottoman ships as prizes and freed the slaves that were transported by the Turks.
In 1855 she was in Sevastopol. The brig was sunk when the russian troops left Sevastopol.
She was raised in 1859 and re-entered the fleet.
