Description
This is my love letter to the original 1987 Legend of Zelda game.

I only posted a few pictures of the map. I want subscribers to be able to explore and find things for themselves.

The 81 Tiles mod is highly recommended.

Prop and Tree Anarchy may also be needed as there are numerous props and trees mixed up with each other and I am not sure how that will translate without the mod turned on.

I used the Not so Rocky Hills theme with Daylight Classic. You might find a better combination, but I really liked this look. It just had the right feel for me.

You'll need Unlimited Trees for the 330,000 or so trees. I did my best to keep it from going out of control. There are a large variety of trees to get the right look. Mostly, it's just trees to subscribe to because of this. Aside from the Pontepedra unwired railway bridge, I used stock assets to keep the requirements list from spiraling out of control.

I set the visible railways to not have wires with the replacer mod.

The No Pillars mod may be required to keep pillars from showing up on the elevated roadways over the water. There should only be the railway stone arches.

Remove the decorative sprites as well. They look terrible.

Some liberties had to be taken to translate it to Cities Skylines.

To preserve the look of the map, the networking is mostly underground. I did my best to keep the slopes within reason. There are no crazy networking sins hidden. Also, there are lane mathematics on all the roads and, while a pain, it is possible to use Traffic Manager to work with the underground network. I tested the map to 40k population (spread out) and the traffic was still reasonable.

To preserve my sanity building mostly underground, I used Network Extensions and the four lane national roads to simplify the build. There are also four lane, three lane, two lane highways, and one lane ramps, which make up the giant underground round-a-bouts. Network Extension and Any Outside Road Connection are required.

The underground rails use star shaped one way track junctions to keep the trains moving without backing up and waiting on each other too much.

There are three road, two train, two ship, and two air connections. That's really all that would fit well.

Please comment or critique if you subscribe. I'll try to fix any glaring or map breaking issues if they are found. This map was a far greater challenge than I anticipated and I would love to hear what you think about how I did translating Hyrule 1987 to Cities Skylines.

Although this is not a map I may play, and no disrespect at all, I have to say from the artistic point of view, that this one is a great fantasy map. There are many aspects I like. It is very clear that the creator put a lot of effort in doing a good work. Very detailed. To do things like this, a person need a lot of patience and dedication. Congratulations for the awesome work. Totally deserves thumbs up.

Thank you everyone. Thanks for the kind review BonBon! This map took me over 100 hours (try turning an 8 bit square flat game into a detailed three dimensional thing... or better yet, don't).

Even though I made this map for my own nostalgia, it is very rewarding to see other people support it. I was disappointed to see some drown trees and shark's teeth terrain in the review. In my own play testing, I did not have those errors.I may need to reach out and see if someone else can test play my next map whenever it's ready.

Anyway, thanks again to all for checking this out and showing support or giving critiques. It keeps me motivated to keep making more maps and helps me improve.
