RF01 - Pioneer

Description
BUILT FOR REFORGED EDEN SCENARIO

The Pioneer is back with a total redesign but keeping all the things that made the original so special.
A decent hangar bay, storage, engine nacelles, all around defence and upgrade-ability.

Equipped with steel armor and 4x Cannon turrets its a good start but if you want a little extra protection, pop in another CPU extender and a shield, why not 8x flak turrets on the rear quarters, its so easy to upgrade this ship you'll be using it until you can afford that super mega battle cruiser you're saving up for.

All the facilities you would expect from a starter CV, 3x decent storage arrays, full medical and 9x grow plots.

Just spawned the Pioneer added a couple of turrets and shield generator and more cpu. Can only do 43 in atmosphere is it the drag of the ship that mkes it slow? Is there a way to get it up to 60?

After my first attempt at building an HV i can see how much of a time investment there is in learning to build in this game.
This CV took a long time to build even with that experience, thank you Spanj :steamthumbsup:

I do agree it does take too long getting in and out of it so i cut the travel time in half by installing an elevator block and sliding door below it at the foot of the stairs behind the helm, that drops me in front of the hanger bay ramp.

Just spawned this in my newest SP RE and inlaid 3 solar panels on each of the rear upper wings to provide an additional 200 W for power save mode. Can't wait to grow enough XP and resources to add the shields, upgraded warp and improved thrusters that spanj shows in the video series.

Been using it since the update, added a drone hatch. only issue is the demon tank won't fit in it without 3 to 4 blocks length sticking thought the door :) Good work

I tried this out. Ship works well. My biggest problem is that it takes too long to get in and out of the ship.

I have never had to build a landing pad to spawn a ship. The server I am on now requires one. Any idea of the block dimensions to be able to spawn this. Thanks
