ShoutMore

Description
╔══ Introduction ══╗
This mod gives you the ability to shout out 10 more comments than only being able to shout "Go!".

╔══ How to use ══╗
In the mod settings of Shout More are a few options you need to enter before you can use this mod.

First, there are 2 checkboxes:
1. Enable --
-- You know this one.

2. Debug Mode --
-- Unless you want to look into my code and have some more information about how everything works I suggest you ignore this button.

There are also 10 different text fields where you can enter different comments you want to be able to shout out, you won't have to fill everything but if you wanna use this mod you, of course, need at least 1.

Then there are 2 Hotkeys:
1. The "Debug Key" --
-- Unless you want to look into my code and have some more information about how everything works I suggest you ignore this button.

2. The "Shout Key" --
-- This is the key that you need to press to select one of the 10 comments to shout out, when you press this key a UI Popup will show up and ask you to press a number key from1 to 10.
Once you selected the comment you shout out you need to press the big green "Confirm Button" and the comment you have selected will be shouted out.

╔══ To-Do ══╗
1. Add a feature that also lets you type in something to shout out instead of only being able to choose from the 10 options you entered in the mod settings.

2. Make the text that you enter in mod settings not reset to default when you close the game.

╔══ Known Bugs ══╗
Fochenetly there are no game-breaking bugs, there are only 2 that I know of so far.
1. When you press the "Shout Key" and then click on the X at the top right instead of clicking the confirm or cancel button,
"ModBase.RegisterForInputPress" doesn't stop and every key you press will trigger the same pop-up window until you close it by either clicking on "Confirm" or "Cancel".

2. The text you enter in the settings of Shout More will be reset to default after you close the game.
I know, this is very annoying, so I will try my best to find a work-around if this is not fixed by the game developers soon.

@yeahgamer3 Ill try and help you to get it to work,
what do you mean with "The checkmark"?
also, you might need to set the hotkey to something else, i dont remember which key is the default. but if you change that to something and enable the mod in the settings you should see a window pop-up in the game when you press this hotkey.

If it still doesnt work after you done this, you can private msg me on discord so i could assist you a bit better.

Sadly isn't working for me. I press the checkmark on the window, and the robot is forever listening for it, yet even if I add "" or just the text, nothing happens.

Yeah that was actually my original idea but i was indeed scared people would have a hard time memorizing it at first. this mod is a huge workaround already and this is about the only way i could think of back then, but to be fair, this is my first mod and i might just be able to make a huge improved version of this mod if i would try again since i learned a lot more since then. ill see what i can do but dont expect this mod to be updated since i would probably just make a new improved version of it.... or maybe ill update it anyway.... the point is; i dont know what i want to do :D

Honestly, while a popup is great until I have the shouts memorized, if I want to have a bot do something after that, I would rather just have to hold down the shout button and tap a number key. <Z-3> or <Z-0>, for instance.

@ChrisTylerFL Thanks for answering that, you are correct about that. I'm also glad to hear that you enjoy my first mod :steamhappy:

@Madd1flint2 Thanks for the compliment. Unfortunately, there was no option for a textbox UI, I had to be really creative to get the 10 options done. tho I might know a workaround to recreate some kind of input field so maybe ill update this mod sometime and add that.

@pokemon sun kil moon

That's for the bots, this is for the player. If you press "Z" (pretty sure that's the default) then the player shouts "Go". This lets you operate bots remotely but it activates every bot that's listening for your shout. This lets you customize so you can activate specific bots remotely.

And yes, you can make bots shout anything you want. I use this extensively for my tool delivery system.

doesn't the vanilla game already have a textbox where you can set user-specific shouts? IIRC you can just drag-select the text 'Go!' by dragging over it like in any standard text entry field, then manually typing whatever command you want. i remember trying shouts out, but i haven't figured out how to set up listening well enough yet to report back any meaningful results

This mod is awesome, and I think something like this should be in the game. However, I ran out of space for the shouts. And this mod would be a lot better if you just put in a textbox instead of the 10 options.
