what do you mean with "The checkmark"?
also, you might need to set the hotkey to something else, i dont remember which key is the default. but if you change that to something and enable the mod in the settings you should see a window pop-up in the game when you press this hotkey.
If it still doesnt work after you done this, you can private msg me on discord so i could assist you a bit better.

im online a lot of the time so feel free to msg me there or in DM.
Yeah that was actually my original idea but i was indeed scared people would have a hard time memorizing it at first. this mod is a huge workaround already and this is about the only way i could think of back then, but to be fair, this is my first mod and i might just be able to make a huge improved version of this mod if i would try again since i learned a lot more since then. ill see what i can do but dont expect this mod to be updated since i would probably just make a new improved version of it.... or maybe ill update it anyway.... the point is; i dont know what i want to do :D
That's for the bots, this is for the player. If you press "Z" (pretty sure that's the default) then the player shouts "Go". This lets you operate bots remotely but it activates every bot that's listening for your shout. This lets you customize so you can activate specific bots remotely.
And yes, you can make bots shout anything you want. I use this extensively for my tool delivery system.
