Population Control (Reduce late-game lag)

Description

[buymeacoffee.com]

Description
A simple mod that controls the population.

This mod helps reduce late game lag.

<Before>

<After>

Creates a decision to control the population. To control the population, you need to start decision.

If the population exceeds the specified value, the characters are randomly get plague or die.

Characters to die are not completely random. Characters to die are generally unimportant characters. Characters such as lords, heirs, or lords with no heir are less likely to die. So the game doesn't change much.

If the current population is already high, it will take some time to get it under control. Please be patient. In the meantime, the game may slow down a bit.

For the sake of the player's happiness, there is no population control in place for players and their courts.

Pinned characters do not die by default. So, if you have a character you don't want to die, pin them.

You can customize this mod by editing the following files.

Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1158310\2276469612\common\script_values\PopulationControl_basic_values.txt

Save compatible.

It does not work well in multiplayer.

You can achieve achievements.

The further the target's location is from the player, the higher the probability of dying.

The ruler's son and daughter, two each, are safe.

If the dynasty's prestige is 3 or more, up to a certain number of members are protected.

Pinned Character died seconds after activating - 10/10 would recommend still for the lol. Hopefully my heir will make it ;D

This mod goes to town with direct children of large ruling houses in AGOT, is there a way to make it not do that or do it less? Targaryen went extinct because most of their children just got vanished and the 2 living ones died from plague is a rather common occurrence in my playthrough lol. Wouldn't mind as much if the irrelevant ones that are not from ruler lines died.

can't get this mod to appear in AGOT. not sure if it's a conflict with existing mod or not (I'm a dumbass). is anyone else having this issue?

Your error is output to the log once and is normal.
The error does not cause the game to crash.
Maybe some other conflict is the cause...

I am not using AGOT but my crash log is reporting script errors with dragon traits ?

here is an exemple:

[18:31:14][E][jomini_script_system.cpp:284]: Script system error!
Error: has_trait trigger [ Cannot find dragonslayer in trait database ]
Script location: file: common/on_action/PopulationControl_on_actions.txt line: 262 (Population_Control_death:trigger)

Turn it on when you start the game and never turn it off again for best long-term results.

do I leave this mod turned on from the start? or turn it on for few years and off for next few decades?

any way to modify this with other modifiers? I just want to add a higher death chance for east asian characters since I'm playing with the more bookmarks+ mod that adds all of China and South East Asia.
