Appropriation: Steal the leftmost card in the shop. CD: 6 combats
In Combat:
Curtain: Move 1 card from your deck to your hand. CD: 2 combats
Puppet: Copy the leftmost card in your hand. It's action/mana costs is 0. CD: 2 combats
  • Use Appropriation to steal powerful cards in shop. If the card you want is in the middle, you can buy the leftmost card and then use this ability to get it for free.
  • Use Curtain to get useful cards: Trick, Stage Play, Hoodwink ...
  • Use Puppet with Action, Mana cards with high cost, or cards with useful stackable effects.
BLESSINGS

Secret Drug Of Hermit is useful no matter which class you play, for our young Magician, it's even more important since it helps her survive the final phase of the game easier.


This build rely on your traps which may not work during some turns, the -1 DMG taken for each different DMG (except piercing DMG) will definitely help you stay alive longer, especiallly useful against Forest Spirit.


Normally, no one picked this blessing. But in my case, since I already have Secret Drug Of Hermit, and Magician is not a class that depends on AP, the maximum hand size +1 gives you tremendous advantage over your enemies.


This witch's reward is not that helpful but it's better than none.


Who else wants more counter cards?
EQUIPMENT

  • Charged Staff: the free 2 cards after using 2 spell cards is nice.
  • Magic Wand: sometimes you still need to use Spell Cards, Magic Wand can solve this problem for you -> UPGRADE to reduce 4 MP cost for each spell cards on your hand at the start of each turn.
  • Silver Shroud: play a random ATK card or Trap card each turn, this effect right here helps you a lot later on with enemies that has bonus +1 counter after each turn like Yeti, Phantom, Spore Lass ... You won't have to worry about losing your hand cards anymore.

When I finally got my hand on Invisibility Cloak, this is now my set:

-> Invisibility Cloak is definitely a life saver during the encounter with Forest Spirit and other annoying enemies that can deal massive DMG to you or weaken you with negative perks.
CARDS

Help you get through the first part of the game when you are struggling with DMG output.


The bonus effect is really awesome.


Use it to counter enemies with high DMG ATK Cards and better yet, make 2 copies of Trick and possibly 4 to 8 copies of Stage Play.


Combined with Hoodwink -> x2 Copy of Trick -> put another 6 counter cards into play.


Combined with Hoodwink -> x2 Copy of Stage Play -> 2 randomize counter cards.

COUNTER CARDS
you can get from using Hoodwink x Stage Play:





















=> Now Imagine this combination: Enforcer x Gaze x Directionless x Mislead x Chain Gang x Five Finger Discount x Recoil x Resonance ... Yes, before you ask, it's possible.

SPELL CARDS

I love the design of this card and its effect. A deadly combination with any other spell cards you own.


The cost decreases with Magic Wand passive as well.


You have no idea how many times I got an extra turn from this one. In a tough fight, one extra turn = VICTORY.


The broken combination I mentioned above is possible when you use Full Of Traps x Hoodwink x Stage Play -> if you are lucky, you will get another Hoodwink from Stage Play -> repeat Hoodwink x Stage Play till it's over.


3 extra cards in 1 turn if you play 3 counter cards. Combined with Ghost Card for a total of 6 extra cards.


(When UPGRADED, 0 MP cost)
=> Your starting spell card can help you deal lots of DMG in 1 turn, combined with Ghost Card to X2 DMG each turn. MP cost reduces with Magic Wand, Magic Curtain can help you deal more DMG -> UPGRADE this one and Enforcer at the start of the game so you only have to spend 10 Gold.


The more ATK cards you have in your deck, the more DMG you deal. In my case, I have 10 ATK cards -> 40 DMG -> 80 DMG when combined with Ghost Card.

MANA CARDS

Combined with UPGRADED Magic Wand for best experience.


Draw 2 free cards, 0 MP cost if you draw a Spell Card is not broken? OK.


Spell Cards with high MP cost usually are straight up OP, now imagine replacing its MP cost with UPGRADED Poker Dart MP cost
-> If you have Zen Blast (20 MP, deals 30 PIERCING DMG) -> now you can use it for free if you have UPGRADED Poker Dart in your hand.


If you can get your hands on this one, even better. If not, it's not the end of the world.
TIPS
- When LEVELING UP:
  • increases Equipment slot, initial MP, AP.
  • you don't have to worry about HP since you have Secret Drug Of Hermit.

- You don't have cards or abilities to heal yourself after a hard fight, proceed with cautions and you'll make it to the end.

END GAME

This is the other unique passive Forest Spirit has when dealing with class Magician.
-> Too bad buddy, my Little Red Magician is more resourceful than you will ever be.

=> When entering the 2nd phase, most of your counter cards are gone, but with enough luck and cunning, you will still make it till the end.

Worth mentioning the Prank-based cards. It's a small package but if you get your hands on Hoax it'll make things much easier.
