Kriger Shield Auxiliary Vessel

Description
UPDATE: Fixed the coolant pumps not being properly connected thanks to Dark_Exeter

Introduction

Note: you will probably need a modded workbench or a mission to spawn the Shield. How to do that can be easily found on Google and throughout guides on the Stormworks steam guides

Kriger's latest ship in the new SAR series is one to support them all. It is an Auxiliary Vessel meant to support other ships, helicopters and seaplanes out at sea.

Like all vehicles in this series, the Shield will receive updates as more things are tested and added.

Even though it is an Auxiliary Vessel, it is still capable of basic SAR missions such as detecting and finding locator beacons as well as receiving video feed and gps coordinates from observer aircrafts such as the Hornbill.

Her primary purpose though is refueling and repairing other Ships, Seaplanes and Helicopters.

Operation

  • Go to Ops Deck (right below Bridge), turn on Fuel Tank Balancing for all 3 sets
  • Go to Bridge, turn on Engine Turbocompressor, both Engine Coolants and start both engines
  • Gear up, move throttle and that's it.
  • Gear 1 is for getting the ship to move. Not economical for fuel
  • Shift to Gear 2 for Fast mode. Fastest Gear but not the best in fuel economy
  • Shift to Gear 3 for Cruise Mode. Average speed and fuel economy
  • Shift to Gear 4 for Eco Mode. Slowest speed and best fuel economy
  • To reverse, stop the ship and Gear down until you see "-" then throttle up again to reverse
  • Generator and undecorated ship access can be found on main deck near the water canon at the bow of the ship
  • On the Ops Deck(right below bridge), turn on the Emergency Beacon Locator when departing to be listening for emergencies

Safety Operation:
  • Firefighting equipment is found throughout the ship
  • Engine Fire Suppression system is found on the Bridge deck
  • There is a Sick Bay aboard the ship
  • Hull breach bilge pumps can be found right up the stairs before entering the Bridge
  • Green light on the Hull breach bilge pump means everything should be good

Ops Room operation:
  • It is possible for other vehicles to transmit Video Feed and laser tracking GPS coordinates to the Shield. Simply enter the frequency given to you by other vehicles

Refueling Operation

Refueling Towers (at the front of the ship)
  • Open up the Pre-Load Valve
  • Open up the valve from the tank you wish to feed the towers from
  • Turn on "From Pre-Load Tanks to Towers"
  • If Towers Pre-Loaded Indicator turns off then turn on Pre-Load Towers
  • Open up the yellow Tower Valve for the towers you will use
  • Climb up the Bow and swing ou the Tower boom you will use
  • Winch down the hose to the other ship and make sure it is connected to the other ship
  • Go back down to the yellow pumping station and on the control panel enable the Tower Pump

Refueling Booms (at the back of the ship)
  • Raise up the Refuel Boom and Extend the boom you need - Left (blue) for Jet and Right (orange) for Diesel
  • Open up the Boom Valve for the refuel boom you will use
  • Winch down and connect the hose to the seaplane
  • On the control panel, open up the valve for the tank you will use
  • Enable the fuel pump for the fuel boom you will use

Hey thanks for the feedback on the coolant pumps issue, Dark_Exeter. I've fixed it and updated the ship on the workshop. They are now working properly.

for anyone who uses this creation and can't stop the engines overheating, the logic to turn on the coolant pumps is on the wrong channel. you have to find the switchbox and swap the output from the box to the pumps from channel 3 and four to channel 1 for port and 2 for stbd

I followed the instructions, and tried turning stuff on in different orders but still nothing. I know it's something wrong with me or the ship because I've tried refueling with multiple creations with no luck

It's not pumping fuel out, don't know if there's a disconnection or if a pump isn't hooked up or if I'm doing something wrong
Pierre-Luc  [author] 16 Jan, 2021 @ 5:05pm
What do you mean, they don't pivot?
Mach6X 16 Jan, 2021 @ 1:33pm
Can't get either of the front refueling booms to work..
Mach6X 15 Jan, 2021 @ 10:31pm
Tried multiple times with the front right boom and can't get it to work. Am I doing it wrong or is it not working for anyone else?

I'll take a look

that is both with and without turning them on (before starting engines)

And you did turn on the Engine Turbocompressors?
