Hello! Welcome to the Monarchies Expanded mod, an updated version of the original For King and Country mod, discontinued following the release of Waking the Tiger.

Features

This mod, like the original, adds a new ideology: Monarchism. To ensure an expanded playthrough, this mod, unlike other that include similar ideologies relies on a vast amount of Leaders, Events, Decisions, Flavor and minor Mechanics. There are more than 500 new Portraits and Leaders, along with flags and minor interface changes that slightly improve the campaign. A new Generic Focus Tree was also included.

Every Pretender to the throne by the time the game begins is added as the default Monarchist Leader. African nations had Traditional Chiefs elevated to Sovereign Monarchs if they're included in a campaign with accurate portraits and in case of lacking one, more generic portraits were added carrying real names of said chiefs with a special care to their appearence.

In case of some European, American and Pacific nations, the mod includes the option of electing a Royal from the many ranks of Nobility as your ruler. More than 100 nobles are options for countries that never had a Monarch in their modern history, as well as having the option to put in charge the current leader or arrange alternative outcomes to the Vacant throne, rooted in real life events with a minimal of historical accuracy.

Compatibility

As mentioned before, many of the mod's files are added at the game start, instead of being made out of overwritten vanilla files. However, despite my efforts to maximize compatibility, it is still limited. I had to replace the Focus Trees of all the nations that have a Monarchist path in the National Focus, those being: Germany, France, Great Britain, Hungary, Romania, Spain, Portugal, Japan, Manchukuo and the Netherlands. If you intend to play this mod along with any other that changes these Focus Trees, they're most likely to not be compatible, while adding Focuses that aren't related to those mentioned will work independently either way, only lacking the Monarchist leader that the mod will try to fix with some Decision that you may find in the Decisions Tab.

Credits

Main Credits goes for the original team for allowing me to continue this mod long after it was halted; as well as the main overhaul mods, like Kaiserreich,The Road to 56, The Great War, Calm Before the Storm and every other mod that had it's content included, but unfortunatelly, i cannot recall all of them. So Please, if there is anything i can do to properly credit all of them, be sure to tell me what i can do.

Planned Features

Just like this update brings new flavor to Greece, beyond the Battle for the Bosporus DLC with the addition of minor events, GFX and Decisions, i've planned to the same to other nations in the game, while the Expanded Version of this mod (That will have no regard for compatibility, but will have way more features) can't be worked on, as no team nor voluntary donations are helping me with this mod, the King of the Monsters mod and other mods that i would like to make out of solid ideas, so i'm forced to give full time to College meanwhile, but satisfied that this arduous work give you guys a little bit of fun, and that's a payment for me. Because of this, i have to warn all of you that patches and updates may take a while and be delayed. Still, planned features are:

- Decisions and events for Napoleonic France
- Decisions and events for the United Kingdom
- Decisions and events for Brazil, allowing for an autonomous campaign with lots of flavor that Portugal don't have, while not adding a new Focus Tree (For now)
- A Rework of the Italian Focus Tree, adding more to the little and forgotten tree
- The addition of a Russian Focus Tree for a non-communist Soviet Campaign, that will be included in the game the same way the Russian tag is implemented when the Soviet Union no longer has a communist regime
- Expanding the current Monarchist paths in the game

Final Notes

Last, but not least, there are minor bugs that i didn't managed to fix in this version, but since there is no point in waiting until i manage to fix them to post it on Steam Workshop, minor bugs and lags are to be expected in this first release. They will be Fixed according to reports made to me and if i manage to properly address them in the files eventually.

Most names, flags, Portraits, and even some of the new ideologys are broken. also most puppets have been un-puppeted weirdly

I might add "Monarcho-Communism" vaguely, for specific cases, a tree for that... I'd need more help with. I'm alone in this development, there's a lot to address and overworking the plan might get this update to never arrive, being already 5 years since the last one dropped. I'm trying my best to not let everyone who enjoyed this mod down, i owe this to the community, but i can't overhaul it by myself... I'll keep the suggestion noted, though

Yes, it is. The lore is updated, the base mod is almost done, the issue is to adapt the leader assignment that is now radically different from the system i used back in the day. So that's why it's taking a while, but i could make a "Pre-Release" so you guys can see how the development is going and see the breakthroughs. Time is the issue, because i have no one to help me in the codding

Massive content... The upcoming mod will be a complete overhaul and will join all my previous mods into one as well as many others authorized by the creators. There will be updates soon
