Description
Modular Expandable Ore Refinery

For all perverts who, like me, play on smaller sizes - here's modular ore to ingot refinery that can act as a shipyard early game.
While it is just shy of 4k cells in default configuration, any large station enthusiasts out there can easily scale this thing up to a truly titanic scale.

If you liked this blueprint, check the collection above, threre may be other stations you'll find interesting.

  • Imports: Any ore you have.
  • Exports: Any refined metals and ingots your heart's desire.
  • Machines: 8 extractors and 8 stampers per module, 24 extractors and 24 stampers total in default configuration (3 modules).
  • Cost: 38152 EC.

  • Made with ease of construction in mind, uses nothing but iron.
  • Made to be useful all the way to the late game, without the need to rebuild Read the note below.
  • Comes with 8 bots, allowing for usage as early game shipyard, since iron is provided by the refinery itself. Try building above or below right module for best effect.

  • Can be easily expanded to a larger size, if one so desires, consult included images to see how.

Note:
You are, in no way, forced to use only one chamber/module per each mineral. The default settings are optimized for early game, when getting most bang for your buck is crucial.
As the game progresses, you can (and should) juggle production of different materials as needed. You can set 2 chambers for iron and one for copper. You can build a second station and spread production across 6 chambers in total. Example: 2 iron and nickel on one of them, 2 copper and silicon on the other.

Late game, you can just set all three of chambers to, let's say, iron, and get 24 extractors / stampers working on it. No need to rebuild just because you hit a bottleneck. And if that's not enough, either expand station, or build another one.

It cannot be used as a shipyard, as it does not contain any construction cannons.

This build was made within months of the original release loooooong time ago, before storage containters and all other new stuff was added. Needless to say, consider it broken until I maybe come back to this game in the future and fix/change it.

Is there something I'm missing? I've seen a lot of these types of module builds and just can't understand why storage containers aren't used? Especially when they hold so much with just a little research.

Well... its beyond the 2000 standard cells, bulky, outdated... but cool idea.
