Description


My atempt at recreating the Sword-class Frigate of the Imperium of man from Warhammer 40K.
She's a good starter ship, very cheap and has quite a few internal frameworks for upgrades.
It has full Integrity Fields coverage, so the pirates won't be able to shoot off bits of your ship.

Stats and price are on the 2 last screenshots.

Mostly inspired by Sword-class from Battlefleet Gothic: Armada

So, I was wrong in underpowered, the reuired energy in the picture of 1.86 GW confused my, but I guess the energy level was not leveled out after a manuver.

In terms of integrity field I did achieve "almost" the one block solution.

Titanium got down, iron up, however, Power is also 650 MW more, which is one upgrade.

I've tested the "one central integrity generator", it doesn't provide the integrity for the whole ship while costing more.
Also, the ship costs only 1k titanium, so making it 200 titanium cheaper doesn't change much as an avarage titanium asteroid contains 4 times more.
This ship is meant as a literall starter ship, so it won't see much fighting anyway.
Last of all, armor is just ugly- I refuse to use it for any of my "replicas"

I like the model, yet, I have some "comments". :steamhappy:

Don't get me wrong, making a nice looking model is, at least for me :steammocking:, the hardest part.

So,

1. the model is underpowered
2. the ammount of titanium usage could be reduced
3. the usage of intergrity generators is good however, I think they are to small und there should be one central one.
4. I know armour does not look sexy, but, it certainly would improve survivability

I had a look on the model and wether I could make some fixes, the model certainly has potential, the volume is there.
Do you have a unmerged version where it is easier to work on the internals?
