Missable/ Mutually Exclusive/ General Achievement Guide [English]
By The Cunning Man
This guide will mainly cover achievements you can miss, mutually exclusive achievements and just the achievements in general I found difficult or got stuck with. If you're stuck with any achievement, it's very likely you'll find the answer here. †

Introduction
This guide aims to cover primarily the achievements you can miss, and the ones I had difficulty with since most of the achievements are pretty straightforward. I will not be covering EVERY achievement, since if you're actually paying attention to the point you are in the game and actively trying to get achievements, they're very simple.

The first thing you need to do, before you start playing, is have the following guide open while you play:

https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1913994041

It has all the achievements, in English. How to use it? You see what area you're in, and then check if there's any achievement available for that area. For example at the start of the game, you'll venture into the Ancient Cloister. Right at the top of the guide, you'll see there's an achievement for that area.

A lot of the achievements are for basically not falling in the map. The trick is to just save very, very frequently. So even if you do fall off, just exit to the menu and reload your manual save. As you play, the game will auto-save; this functions separately to your manual save. So even if it saves after you've fallen off, it's completely fine because your manual save will be unchanged.

Also, if you have missed an achievement for an area, it's not the end of the world. You don't have to play through the whole game again. The game makes something called, 'Path Saves' at intervals throughout an Act, which you can always load back to. Here's an example:

Let's say you've made a mistake, or realised afterwards that there was an achievement in this area (Weishui Swordforge). All you'd need to do is under, 'Path Save > Act 2' load the game from Act 2 - 21. This would start you off from the beginning of the area, as if you were there for the first time, allowing you to get the achievement. And then after you've obtained the achievement, you can exit to the menu, and begin again from where you left off. Either using your manual save (if you didn't save manually while you were trying to get the achievement), or from the latest point in the story you can using Path Save.
And indeed, you can use this method to get nearly every area-specific achievement in the game. It's how I picked off my remaining achievements after finishing the game. Just load the Path Save associated with the area, get the achievement and then leave.

A final thing to note, I think the achievements in the guide above are in the order you'll encounter them (or at least mostly), which should give you an idea of what to expect or look out for, making it more difficult to miss achievements. Just thought I'd point that out.

In order to get all achievements, you need to play on the Challenge difficulty (which is the highest difficulty).
Darker Lurkers | Free Falling Demon | Sneaky Surprise
Defeat 5 Darklurkers that have been enhanced by Heluo fishes

I'll only be writing to explain how to go about approaching this kind of achievement. From the game menu (not the title menu), if you go to Lore, you can see all the enemies you've defeated. The Darklurker and Heluo are both under Spirits. Just by knowing which enemies you're dealing with, and the area they're in (in this case, the Ancient Cloister), it shouldn't be too hard to work out how to do it.

Others like it:

Free Falling Demon: Use Energy Skill to knock a dying Fogblade Demon off Cetacea

I was able to get it after looking up what a Fogblade Demon was in Lore (as described above). Kind of lucked out with this one to be honest. I was fighting it, then I had no clue where the hell it went. Then after Cetacea crashed or whatever, the achievement popped up lol

Sneaky Surprise: Defeat a Deepgold as it is activating a Qiang'liang statue

I got this one without even trying to get it; extremely difficult to miss. It takes place at the Alter of Gods.
Timid Pale Wyrm
Find the hidden Pale Wyrm.

I actually missed this the first time around. The following video helped me get it:

https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1nb411e7Dz?from=search&seid=10372196034618436116
Fengshui Expert
In the Lakeshore Trigrams, find the correct path without failing once

The following guide has a picture (just scroll down a bit):

https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2004538806
Agile Body | Unexpected Joy
Agile Body: Don't get knocked away by cages before meeting Onyx Swallow Elder

Unexpected Joy: Obtain the treasure only obtainable after (getting) knocked away by a cage

For unexpected Joy, you need to find a place where there's 3 swinging cages in a row. I think you need to get hit by the second, and it'll knock you onto a platform where you have to unseal something.

The order I did this in was a bit weird. I saved before getting Unexpected Joy, then reverted save and got Agile Body, then went back for the recipe you get from Unexpected Joy. So I'd recommend just doing Agile Body first. Then after you get to the top, you can backtrack a little and get Unexpected Joy. It shouldn't be too hard to find, since *I think* it's on the way? I at least can't remember having any difficulty doing it myself.
<VERY MISSABLE> Demon Devoured
Make the Ye Chan'geng disappear completely

During Act 2-13 I think, when you're in Beiluo's dream (the black and white place where you play as Yun'wuyue): right at the end, DO NOT RETURN THE SHARDS TO BEILUO. Instead, after picking the other option, on the map it will show another pointer, which is the cub. Give the shards to the cub.
Last Breath | Blood Slave
Last Breath: Allow Yin Tieshan die a natural death after awakening.

Blood Slave: Defeat Yin Tieshan who has been made into Wuzhao's blood slave.

What I did was save before the boss, fight him then choose to not heal him. I then played the game without saving all the way up until I got the achievement.

After getting the achievement (Last Breath), I reverted save to the one right before the boss, fought the boss again, and then this time chose to heal him. After healing him, you'll then fight him again at the end of the game.
Green Tung
Complete the side quest Green Tung

Of all the, 'Complete x side quest' achievements, this is the only one I missed. The following video helped me get it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnwPWAwvLJ8&ab_channel=GeneMyLong%E9%87%91%E9%BA%A6%E9%BE%99

The instructions are in the description of the video. Pay attention to the first step in particular, you need to investigate the sword to trigger the cutscene.
Top Danger
Do not take any damage from falling rocks in the Abyss of Guilt

Right, I don't think the game tells you you're in the Abyss of Guilt. So if you see falling rocks, if you GET HIT BY FALLING ROCKS, you're in the Abyss of Guilt. Load your last save, and try again lol
Quick Crossing
Do not slip and fall while traversing the broken Jishuang bridge.

Just don't the fail the one or two QTEs that pop up while you're crossing the bridge.
Lantern Smasher
Find the quickest route while chasing Ye'changeng in the Threshold

The solution to this can be found in the following guide:

https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2004538806

Quoting the guide (Google Translate):

'1. Break the sky lantern in front of you, walk along the road, and purify the black mist left by Ye Chang Geng, after purification, the first circle will appear 2. Break The sky lantern on the left, walk along the road, purify the black fog left by Ye Changgeng for the second time, and after purification, a second magic circle appears. 3. Smash the sky lantern next to the second magic circle and follow the newly appeared road Go, kill the demon and then smash the sky lantern. You will see Ye Changgeng a second time, and he will leave a cloud of black fog. After the third purification, a third circle will appear. 4. Then stop and walk back, go back to the first circle, walk a little to the right, and the demon will jump out, kill the demon and knock out the big sky lantern on the right'

Got it first time following this ~

Borrowed Light | Spirit "Nemesis"
Borrowed Light: Use Oculi of Order in Xiling to defeat 10 Blight Claws and Beholder Claws

Spirit "Nemesis": Do not get hit by a Oculi of Order in the ruins of Xiling

These two achievements are basically mutually exclusive. I'd say it's pretty much impossible to use the Oculi of Order on an enemy without it also hitting you. What I did was run through the map and get Borrowed Light first, then revert save and do it all properly, all the time avoiding the Oculi of Order for the other achievement. Literally, if you see it in any area, just ignore the enemies and run past; it's not worth risking yourself getting hit just to kill the enemies.
The Tale Teller
'Defeat 20 opponents in the Lost Tales card game'

Tip for the card game first of all: Just pair the cards that make the most combos. It'll say on the right hand side which combos a card can make; you don't care what the combos are, you're only looking at the number of combos. If it's a block of text, just pair it with any random card in your deck; the game's basically braindead.

If you see a person's name over their head, you can talk to them. This is how you identify an opponent. Most of the people you can talk to will either want to play, have a quest or just chit chat. So talk to everyone you can, and this achievement is unmissable.
World Adventurer
Find all viewpoints on all maps.

The locations are listed in the guide I've shared in the introduction. Just to note:

  • The second viewpoint at Yanling becomes available later in the story (I think Act 3 onwards)
  • There is no place called Celestial Wheel. Well they call it that, but in the game, the map's called Redwater
  • The Skyelk one's a bit awkward. You have to get under it (on the level beneath), and then climb up some stairs
  • You won't be able to get the one in Abyss of Guilt the first time you're there. You actually go there a second time later on in the story, and that's when it becomes available
  • For Kongtong Mountains, you won't be able to get it the first time you're there (even though you'll see it). You revisit the mountain later on in the story, which is when you'll be able to get it
  • You revisit Demonbones later on in the story too. Just look out for it in the Spirit Realm
Windfall
Acquire 800 coins during the battle with Tao Kuan

Tao Kuan is the rich kid who throws money bags at you. It's pretty straightforward: defeat his two body guards, then stand still and let him hit you before healing and repeating (is doable on Challenge difficulty). The reason it's here is because I spent ages on it, then realised afterwards I actually already had the achievement but hadn't noticed. So if you feel you should've gotten it, but haven't: check, because chances are you've probably got it.
One Stone Three Birds
Freeze three enemies with one ice ball at Lake Ding

Ah, now this. Probably the most notorious achievement in the game. Contrary to popular belief, and many other sources, this achievement is NOT BUGGED. It's just got the wrong description. The reason I didn't write the, 'correct' description of the achievement above is because that's the description used in the game too.

The correct description is to freeze three allies. That is right. The way to do this is you need to wait till they group up, and then hit an ice ball with a RIGHT CLICK. Don't left click it, don't use an ability, RIGHT CLICK. I got this first time when actually doing it correctly. You don't even need to be in combat to get this achievement.

Note: you will not be able to get this achievement the first time you're at Lake Ding. You'll return to Lake Ding later on in the story to find Ji'xuanyuan's bow; that's when you can get it.

Dexterous
Do not get caught by Yin Tieshan's giant hand

Don't fail any of the QTEs during the fight.
Excuse me!
Defeat 20 demons as they are absorbing Demon Cores in Redwater.

I wouldn't advise doing this the first time you're at Redwater. Do it when you return to Redwater later on, and there's fewer demons.

My method was to get two demons together, and get them both as low as you can (like, literally one hit from death). Kill one, and when it dies, it will drop a Demon Core in the air. If the other demon's near, it will begin siphoning from the Core; as soon as he begins the channel, use Rift on the demon (G), and you should get the kill. it depends on two things primarily: how low you got the demon, and your reaction speed. It's not the easiest achievement: more often that not, they'll still somehow end up out-healing your damage. But I feel this is the most effective strategy, since you've already gotten the demon super low before he starts absorbing.
Mega Combo
Reach a combo of over 200 attacks

I actually got this really early on. The best time to do this is when there's a ton of demons spawning, and I can already think of two times this happens on the top of my head: Yanping where you have do defend against a bunch of demons in Act 2, and then again in Farnight Bay (not sure which act). It's not too hard, but if you're struggling, use the skill, 'Crossroads' to keep your combo going ;)
Popular
Make a pact with 20 different Pact Creatures

Just do all the, 'kill the leader' type side quests as they pop up (leader is marked as a yellow dot on the map). I got more than 20, and seeming as I got the achievement quite early on, even if you do miss one or two, there's enough Pact Creatures to make up for it.
Pole Master | Fishfinger
Pole Master: Record 15 species in your Fishing Journal

Fishfinger: Acquire 15 types of fingerlings

I used the following guide to help me with this achievement:

https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1972841500

Fish wherever you see or come upon a spot. After catching a fish, it'll tell you which spot it is you caught the fish at. Check in the guide which other fish are available at that spot, and then using the correct bait, catch all the fish you're able to at that spot. You need to catch 3 of a fish to get the fingerling for that fish, so your aim is to catch 3 of every fish in the game. If you have the guide open as you play, and you're keeping track of which fish you've caught and which fish you've yet to catch, you'll be making it a lot easier for yourself.
Card Collector
Find and collect 30 special cards in the Lost Tales card game

As I played through the game, I spoke to every NPC I could, and did every quest available on the quest board associated with the Lost Tales card game. In this way, I ended up with 28/30 cards by the time I got to the end of the game. It turned out I'd missed two NPCs (cheeky buggers), whose locations I discovered using the following pictures:

Source[www.hotbak.net]

Can translate if you so wish. I'd missed one NPC in Yanling (after demon invasion), and one in Yangping.
Recruitment
Complete the side quest Recruit! and hire all artisans.

Talking to every NPC, and doing all the side quests, I ended up with 23/24 of the artisans needed by the time I reached the end of the game. The last one I needed was: https://www.3dmgame.com/gl/3751633.html

Basically had to go to the clinic and talk to some guy, which started a side quest. And then that got me the last artisan. If you want to check which artisan you're missing, use the table in the following guide:

https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1606544249

Chrome translation is better than Edge, so I'd recommend opening it in Chrome.
Love Remains | Dream Faded
Dream Faded: Defeat the corrupted Yu Menghzi.

Love Remains: Have Yue Sanlang take away Yu Mengzhi to heal her.

Dream Faded is the default ending, you don't need to do anything special for that.

After I finished the game, I loaded a Path Save to get the Love Remains achievement using the following guide:

https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1925196160
Unmatched Craftsman
Follow crafting recipes and create 365 different items

So, there's just over 365 different items in the game you can craft. This achievement requires you to craft nearly every single item in the game; you have a leniency of around 6 to 7 items. I've just gotten the achievement, and the following is my advice/ some tips:

  • Obviously, do the achievement, 'Research Center' first, so you can unlock as many recipes as possible
  • Some recipes will unlock as you level up the artisans; quite a lot actually. So if you're seeing a lot of blanks when you're crafting, I'd recommend levelling up your artisans. As of right now, after having gotten the achievement, all of my artisans are Lv. 2 apart from Persimmon and Luna. I have 3 recipes missing under food, and I'm pretty sure the requirement for those is for these last two (Persimmon and Luna), to be Lv. 2. Honestly, after you've done the, 'Research Center' achievement and gotten a good way through crafting, it's really more of a passive thing. But it's just something to keep in mind if you need to unlock more recipes
  • There's a, 'secret' recipe, I suppose you can call it, you can get from Weishui Swordforge (in the area where you fight the boss). It's quite high up, and I believe it's not far from the start, where you enter the arena of sorts. It'll be on a platform, and you need to use that rift thing to get up there. If you're still a lil' confused, I'd recommend having a look at the following guide. If translated using Chrome, the section you want should be under, 'Crafting recipe-weapon appearance'
  • The crafting of the weapon skins WON'T count unless you equip them. So if you craft the weapon skin, and don't equip it, it won't increment the achievement. Go down in order, equipping each weapon skin in turn. If it helps, you can write down which weapon skins you've done as you're doing them, which is what I did. Also, with the weapon skins, you have to equip some of them to unlock other weapon skin recipes
  • Under the elemental section, there's goin' to be a ton of recipes like, 'Deconstruct Sword Crystal I' and, 'Upgrade Sword Crystal I'. These don't count towards the achievement, so don't bother wasting your time with them. And as I'm writing this, my brain for some reason is making me doubt myself. So I'll say I'm 95% sure they don't count. Just craft 1 and check if the achievement has incremented, though I'm like near to certain they don't count
  • Remember that achievement progress saves across different saves. Why do I mention this? Well if multiple recipes use the same rare material, you can craft one of the recipes and then load a previous save and craft the other. For example, the items, 'Envoy of Thunder', 'Throatcut' and, 'Fatal' all require the rare material, 'Demon Shard, Blade'. So what I did was craft, 'Fatal' first, then load the save again and craft one of the others. Just something useful to keep in mind
  • While doing this achievement, you will inevitably run out of money lol To make money, just sell stuff to the grocer merchant in Yangping (that sells seeds and food stuff). You should have a TON of stuff to sell that has accumulated over your time playing the game and harvesting etc. Even after having gotten the achievement, there's still so much more stuff I can sell. So really, money should never be a problem
  • Right, final tip. If you're limited by your pact creatures taking time to get materials, or just harvesting in general, you can change your system time to skip the wait. For example, to craft a lot of the outfits, I needed a lot of Natural Silk. I eventually ran out, and to get more, you have to send out your pact creatures to Qixia (exploration). This would usually take 45 minutes; so instead of waiting 45 minutes, I changed my system time to one hour ahead, which skipped that waiting time entirely. You can also use this with your crops, mining etc. I will add here: if you're REALLY poor and have nothing to sell, you can use this method to get lots of ore, and then sell the ore (or any of the other mining products) to the grocer. Though at this point in the game, I can't imagine anyone having to do this really
  • If you're wanting to craft a weapon skin for someone not in your party, just load a save back to when that character was in your party. Craft the skin, equip it, and then go back to your main save. I had to do this for the bow skins as Ji'xuanyuan wasn't in my party
  • Do Challenge Mode first, as you get a handful of recipes for completing the challenges. Don't even think you need Gold, just to have completed them

That's about as much advice as I can give. Craft all the items you can, do all the researches and level up your artisans. Combined with the advice above, it shouldn't be too bad :3
Conclusion
Above are all the achievements I had trouble with, hope it helps. If you need help with any other achievements, feel free to ask in the comments or me directly. The best final advice I can give is to do every side quest, keep checking the quest boards for quests and talk to NPCs.

Two other guides I'd recommend checking out if you're stuck with anything also (open them in Chrome, translations are actually pretty decent):

I've switched the order of the achievements, thanks for your comment
Hentaika 11 Mar, 2023 @ 5:28pm
Also noticed two more achievements which want a relocation:

1) Last Breath/Blood Slave should be placed right after 'Demon Devoured'.

I would also add to your description exactly when you get the 'Last Breath' achievement.
You get it by progressing main story all the way until the scene where Xiao Zan is attacked by wolves. You have to fully watch this scene without skipping as it seems like skipping this scene entirely might cause achievement not to be given.

By far the most annoying achievement since even rushing the story - it still takes like half an hour of running around to get it and then a replay of a pretty annoying boss too.

But it's indeed the best order to do it as you mention.

2) Green Tung should be placed immediately after the Last Breath/Blood Slave - you get it very close after that point in the story.
Hentaika 11 Mar, 2023 @ 3:05am
Quite sure demon devoured is:
1) Pick Beiluo - get nothing in the end once the story happens, a different scene however.

2) Pick Cub - get achievement during same story and yet again scene is different.
The Cunning Man  [author] 10 Mar, 2023 @ 5:48pm
I've moved the Demon Devoured section in the right place, thanks for that. I didn't know that you still got the achievement if you picked the cub

I think for people going for completion, they'd be doing every quest anyway, so getting 20 different pact creatures is *pretty much* a non-issue lol

Yes! That's a good point about the cards. Now that I think back on it, probably one of the most involved completions I've done. They sure don't make it easy. Thanks for your comment, I hope it can help other people :projectstarship_smile:
Hentaika 10 Mar, 2023 @ 2:30pm
Great guide but needs a few edits:
1) Demon Devour section should be put after agile body/unexpected joy. This is the correct order place for it.
You should also add the fact for people not to panic upon 'not getting it' - presuming you picked the cub you will get the achievement as part of future main story progression.

2) Regarding pact creatures - those are 'infinite' as in you can get as many as you want via exploration, albeit quite rare. So shouldn't pose a problem at all.

3) Regarding card collection - I would add the fact that card NPCs aren't all instantly present.
The moments when you can get them all if you don't want to search them one by one/memorize which ones you have done are:

Yanling city - quite certain it's the moment you unlock the world map travel.

Yangping - after Yanling demon invasion in act 3
